That all real estate agents are the same.

That we make lots of money and don't work for it

That agents don't do much to earn those large commissions. 

That there is no difference in renting or owning. Statistics show something different.

That it is a great investment? Like all investments sometimes it is and sometimes you go bust!

That if AFTER they buy a home, if they spend $25,000 on renovations, then the home's value will be $25,000+ higher

For the most part the public think all agents make millions.

The most popular myth, to me, is the one where, if the seller sells his own home, he will save money because there will be no sales commission and they can sll it for a higher price.  Most of them end up selling their home faster with an agent and usually sell it at a higher price than what they would have originally, after dropping the price.

Television makes it look like fixing up houses, and selling flips for huge profits, is easy. 

That agents are overpaid is one rogue urban legend
