Whether or not Bitcoin's technology is up to snuff, they still have a mountain to climb when it comes to trust, even for non-financial uses - right now, their fan base is mostly dark web users and speculators. They'll need a traditional partner or time enough for bitcoin to become a much more accepted concept.

The Blockchain enables the exchange of digital assets, such as bitcoin. The promise is that using the blockchain (a public ledger of sorts) transfers power and control from large entities to the everyone, enabling safe, fast, cheaper transactions. The impact is that those who currently verify/audit transactions, process payments hold escro, execute contracts all stand to loose this buisness. The only way this happens is if people start trusting these transactions or stop trusting the current system. It took the major payment hacks to get the US to move toward chipped credit cards... a large hack might move this....

Even if the paperwork becomes digital, there will be plenty of work for those workers in Santa Ana, unless they move them to India.

I am not an expert but I want none of that in my life. Even if I did not work in this industry I would not trust that technology nor want the potential privacy infringements.

Yeah, bitcoin has NEVER been hacked or had millions of coins stolen. I'd totally trust them!!! NOT!!!!
Go ahead and have fun. I won't even give my SSN to Keller Williams without a data security questionnaire and an information security agreement! Not giving my info to another online service if I can avoid it!

Anything is possible in this rich info age.... With the internet, technology the needs for real estate relies more and more on technology, wirelss..... which means there will be less demand for old fashioned re service.....
A good technology does not imply people will all jump at it. Cloud computing is made up of some real affordable tech (not reliable). But that is the backbone of what we got. Not intended.....

All news to me, but I believe this technology is solely dependent on the public agreeing to release that information. I believe few will agree to do so, since the past history of breaches and hacking.

Caroline,
I agree with Dick Greenberg . On the subject of paper, one of our friends went to a lecture on security, and they are predicting that the cloud can be hacked, and that you should keep a paper trail at all times...Our bank will not accept faxed signatures when we opened an account with partners in FLA. Everyone had to have signature on paper for their records. A

Hmmm, one more source of personal to be hackable? Faster? Maybe. Risky? Probably? Do I fully understand it? Nope

Everything changes! Will it be as secure as any other web site will remain to be seen.
How many bit coins have you garnered.
