Boondoggle is the new word of the day. I know it really is just one word not two.  I have had some of these happen to me in the past and I’m sure it will happen again in the future.  There are actually three meanings but I’m going to use the second one.  Regardless if you know any of them you are a winner.  With that said the meaning of (boon’dog’el) is a trifling or pointless project, expenditure.  So have you had this happen to you?

Soliloquy is the new word of the day. Okay I’ve done this but I called it by another name.  I know what my wife calls it but I can’t repeat it in this forum.  So for this one there will be no hints because if you don’t know it all the hints won’t help.  So the meaning of (se lil’e-kwe) is an act or instance of talking to oneself.  Thank goodness I don’t answer myself although sometimes I feel like I should.

Fedora is the new word of the day. Well I was going to say I did not own one but in reality I do.  I do like them and wished I had more than one.  They are known by another name and it is trilby.  That is the one and only hint you will get.  Besides it’s late I’m beat and ready to call it a night so the meaning of (fe dor’e) is a soft felt hat with the crown creased lengthwise and a somewhat curved brim

Distemper is the new word of the day. Good morning all hope you had a good night’s sleep and are ready to take on the day.  Anyway there are several meanings of the chosen word for today.  I will tell you it has nothing to do with animals so get your thinking caps on.  Give up?  Okay the meaning of (dis tem’per) is a method of painting using distempered pigment as for wall decoration.  So did you get it or know its meaning?   Have a great day

Koyaanisqatsi is the new word of the day. Ladies and gentlemen boys and girls if you get this one or know this one you are winner, winner chicken dinner of course you will need to pay.  Anyway if you are wondering the Hopi Indian is the origin of this word.  I doubt you know it so here we go the meaning of (kouja:nis’ka:tsi) is unbalanced life.  So what is it in your Koyaanisqatsi do you need to get right?  What say you?

No Cancer This will be short but I got a call from my kidney doctor yesterday he said the results came back and there was no cancer.  Other than family I have not notified anyone so this is my official notification I am cancer free.  Now I don’t know about you but I’m off to really enjoy my day.

Greetings from Mercy Hospital. Some of you who follow me know but some don’t.  About two months ago I was diagnosed with a tumor on my kidney.  They were 85% sure it was a cancer they also found I had gallstones and I already knew I had a naval hernia.  So here I am after an overhaul getting ready to get up and go and believe me I’m ready.  I do want to thank ActiveRain for the gift basket and cards I received.  It did so much for my spirits.  Looks like you will be putting up with me for hopefully a long time to come.

Oafishly is the new word of the day. Morning everyone I had to disguise this word a little so it wouldn’t be so easy.  So for you word wizards have you guess the root word?  If not I’m surprised but I don’t think many of you will not get it.  The meaning of (oaf’ishly) or the root word oaf means a stupid, clumsy fellow.  At times in my life being called this would have been a compliment.  Enjoy the day.

Parlance is the new word of the day. We all have them.  The Real Estate Industry, military, law enforcement, firefighters, doctors, lawyers, as you can see name it and it is just a part of the idiom of each one.  I know three and those are law enforcement, lawyers, and of course Real Estate.  So the meaning of (par’lens) is a style or manner of speaking or writing; language.  Good word huh?

Wye is the new word of the day. If you get this one before I give you the meaning you’re a winner, winner you get a chicken dinner (only if you pay for it).   One I tell you the meaning you will say something I can’t write so let’s just let your mind wonder what words or word you will say.  So let us just get it the meaning of (wi) is the letter Y or something shaped like Y.  Got ya didn’t I?

Revulsion is the new word of the day. Back in my cop days I did this often and I’ve had this done to me more times than I care to admit.  So this is one of those words I got out of a book I was reading and finished last night.  Over 900 pages needless to say it took me awhile.  Now I’m off to the Da Vinci Code which also looks like it will be interesting. Back to the word of the day, the meaning of (ri vul’shen) is a sudden, complete and violent change of feeling.  Been there done that.

Nebbish is the new word of the day. I’ve been known to be this from time to time.  Who better to know me than the wife?  She has called me by several names but I’ve not yet introduced her to this one.  I’m sure she’ll like it, because the other names she has called me I can’t repeat in this venue.  So anyway I know you people have known or still know people who fall into this category.  The meaning of (neb’ish) is a person who is pitifully inept, ineffective, shy and dull.

True strength lies in gentleness. This is an old Irish proverb I read in a book.  When you think about the 5 words used in this proverb and the truth behind it what a very true statement it is.  Most men want to be strong but let them be a father and the strong man turns into a wet noodle.  Both men and women want to be their own boss and they try to convince someone to agree with them.  However, place them in a room with the one they love and watch the tough guy or gal turn into a true different creature.  I’m thick headed and stubborn as one can get until I see my wife, kids and the ones I love then you will see my true strength.  What say you?

Lave is the new word of the day. Why yes it is spelled correctly.  If you guessed the meaning was to wash or bathe you would be correct.  If you also said to flow along or against again you would be correct and finally if you guessed to dip or pour with or as with a ladle you would be correct.  Now do you know the other meaning of (lav)?  If not you know I got to I just got to tell you it is “What is left over”.

Ichnite is the new word of the day. I found this word to be interesting.  It has nothing to do with real estate but most of the words I post do not so what’s new?  I knew I had left it somewhere and it has been found in several places.  Those were the times you could do things you never could even think of now but those times are gone forever.  Now for the meaning of (ik’nit’) is a fossil footprint.  I’m a travelling man and I’ve left my footprint in lots of places.

Feldgrau is the new word of the day. Well what do we have here boys and girls.  I do like this in fact it is on my vehicle.  Well let’s say a variation of this is on my vehicle (hint).  This reminds me my grandson owes me a car vacuum and he is going to pay up.  But back to the word of the day the meaning of feldgrau is literally field grey.  My vehicle is grey in color a darker version of the grey the German Army wore which is where this word was created.

Docent is the new word of the day. Believe it or not I’ve done this.  Back in my law enforcement days I did this quite often.  There are a few people that read my bogs daily and I think they should get this one quick.  I won’t waste anymore of your time so the meaning of (do’sent) is to teach as in teacher.  I taught various aspects of law to law enforcement officers and really enjoyed that time in my career.

Kowtow is the new word of the day. Origin of the word is China.  This is one of those words one just comes upon and wonders who thinks up these words.  I know I’m not a very smart man but I’m hungry to learn more.  I think once one decides they do not need to learn something it surly is a sad day.  Anyway the meaning of (kou’ tou’) is the act of kneeling and touching the ground with the forehead to show great deference, submissive respect, homage.  Interesting word I think what about you?

Ankh is the new word of the day. I bet if a poll was taken 99.9% of the world’s population regardless of their religious beliefs would cherish this item.  Some people would be frightened off by the idea but what are you going to do with those.  Not to keep you guessing the meaning of (ankh) is Egyptian in origin and some of the answers need to do with Microsoft but I assure you the one I’m after has nothing to do with that.  So to continue the meaning of ankh is the key of life.  Interesting concept, enjoy the day
