Have you ever lived through a bathroom or kitchen remodel? NOT my idea of fun. We are remodeling our bathrooms at the moment and no matter how much plastic the contractor uses the dust is everywhere. Choke, sputter, cough. This is actually just a friendly reminder to always get the appropriate building permits. Contractors are famous for not wanting to deal with the city inspectors. Actually the inspectors in our beautiful city of Laguna Niguel CA are very helpful and easy to work with. Especially if electrical, plumbing or gas is moved, safety is a huge issue.  The main point here is that California seller forms are very specific. Home sellers MUST disclose if any repairs or remodeling have been performed "without necessary permits" or if any remodeling in the home does not meet curren...

Give Them A Buyer Snapshot...It Works!   I'm so happy this afternoon. I just heard that an offer I wrote yesterday was chosen. Of course that would make any of us happy, we do this for a living, but this one is particularly meaningful. I met a buyer on Sunday for the first time. This sweet woman lost her husband of 40 years two months ago. She confided in me that her husband had done everything for her for all that time. She said she didn't even know how to work the washing machine. She needed help. She had some money and wanted to move down to Laguna Niguel to be near her two sons. She even knew which complex she wanted, it was where one of them lived. She had specific requirements: 2 bedroom, 2 baths and an attached garage. Oh...and under $300,000. This is very hard to find in Lagu...

Summer has come to a close. The kids are now back in school, baseball season is winding down, and football season has begun, which must mean that fall is here! Getting outdoors and enjoying the fresh air and fall foliage is one of the joys of fall; as well as, it is sweater weather time, pumpkin season time and a great time to buy a house.

Not everyone coming to your home is a trick or treater...some may be Buyers!  With Halloween less than 30 days away it seems that many homes are getting decorated for the holiday.  However, if your home is on the market, the less you decorate the better. Less is more. Follow these simple rules for decorating and you can still have a Happy Halloween and get your home Sold! ·         Do not decorate the exterior of your home with spider webs strung from tree to tree or draped over shrubs.  No scary witches, ghouls or bats hanging from the front porch. No signs pointing to the haunted house or dungeon.  Most importantly, do not build a cemetery in your front yard! Sound familiar? Well it's been coached in baseball for over one hundred years..."Don't take your eye off the ball". And that is important. Imagine trying to hit a round ball with a round bat? Not easy...and much more difficult if you take your eye off the ball. But that applies to so many factors in life. Keeping your eye on the ball is a metaphor in life about focusing and refocusing on your purpose - your journey through life. In a professional manner, with family and friends and in your personal health too. So, my friends...despite the myriad of distractions each day brings us ~ Keep Your Eye on the Ball! Please contact us if you know of anyone requiring profesional real estate service. And thank you for making me YOUR Orange County Real Estate Specialist.

Love this!!! This is a must read. Great story to share.  Grandma Being Green... Checking out at the store, the young cashier suggested to the older woman, that she should bring her own grocery bags because plastic bags weren't good for the environment. The woman apologized and explained, "We didn't have this green thing back in my earlier days." The young clerk responded, "That's our problem today. Your generation did not care enough to save our environment or future generations." She was right -- our generation didn't have the green thing in its day. Back then, we returned milk bottles, soda bottles and beer bottles to the store. The store sent them back to the plant to be washed and sterilized and refilled, so it could use the same bottles over and over. So they really were truly recy...
