Photograph taken in Morro Bay California by Robert Swetz 2-12-2011   This type of photograph with colored rings around the subject has happened to me several times when ever I take photographs around the (Ocean) where there is moisture. And it also happened one time when I was hiking on Mt. Charleston when the temperature cooled down and some moisture rolled in. This photograph has been untouched, what you see is what showed up when I downloaded it to my computer. I have some other pics where the colored rings are even stronger, but I think to over powering. With the exception of home sales, a review of the home sales from 2005 to 2009 in Morro Bay reveals a slow down in median sale prices and decline in yield to sellers.  The issues are compounded by the length of time needed to sell a home in Morro Bay today.                        As shown in the graph below, median sale price decreased every year from 2005, dropping by 1% to $599,000 in 2006; and by 10% to $539,000 in 2007.  By end 2009, the median price had dropped to $463,000.   The decline could be attributed to increased sales of more lower-priced homes.                      Sellers also received less money as the sale price-to-list price ratio fell from 97.27% in 2005, to 93.2% in 2009.            While prices did decline, the number of sales appeared to be improving.  In 2005, the...

(Slide Show contains 10 images)Last week while traveling along the California Coast, I came upon a moment at Morro Bay that presented frustration.  Morro is known for its population of adorable Sea Otters.  I had hoped to use the camera while spying on their lives, as they frolicked in the bay near the power plant.  They were off shore, but close enough to observe their activities, which included babies riding around on mama's chest - Cute stuff like that! There was additional activity with friendly ground squirrels at our feet.  However it was quite overcast that morning, and the gray of the sky was blending with darkness of the water, and not creating the best opportunities for photographing the adorable otters.  Although, I was using my 70 x 300mm lens, and could reach the distance o...

The Los Osos Bear graduated from Morro Bay High School with Honors with an honorable mention for his dedication with the Grizzly Academy.  Los Osito as he is affectionately know will stay close to home for college and work on a local archeological project with the CA Fish & Game Department at the Morro Bay Estuary on Turri Road.
