What is the Value of My Oceanside Home?  The Oceanside real estate market has undergone many shifts and continues to evolve. This market report does not include private sales nor manufactured, mobile or multifamily housing; the numbers are derived from the MLS and are believed to be accurate at the time this report was written, but are not guaranteed. Media reports speak in general terms, so information does not represent the reality of the local Oceanside housing market.  June Lake Denali National Park 2015 by Robert Swetz Back in 2008 there were quite a few ActiveRain members that would roll around the network and leave comments to my many photographs of clouds.I have always been fasinated with clouds since high school and the fasination has carried on as a photographer and even to this day. Here is a wonderful group when you are a little bored of Market Reports and the same old - same old posts around the ActiveRain network.CLOUDS AT ACTIVERAIN (clouds attached)  This group is for photos of Clouds, Rainbows and any photos of the sky! I am always looking at the sky because I believe there is something out there that is very unexplainable! Clouds are very interesting because they can take on many different shapes and forms! Oceanside House Value CheckOceanside is the most northern coastal community in San Diego. Oceanside has 4 zip codes which are; 92054, 92056, 92057 and 92058. Located in North County Coastal San Diego this is the community just south of Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, just west of Vista and just north of Carlsbad. Oceanside is big and has lots of smaller neighborhoods in it, both coastal and inland. With 4 zip codes there are a lot of communities to choose from when buying a home or condo and deciding on exactly where to buy a property. Are you interested in knowing the value of your Oceanside home? We have a great House Value Tool that will give you a quick home value of your Oceanside Real Estate. Many of my clients like it better than the Zillow Zestimate. They say it has more accura...

Oceanside,  A Sleepy lil' Military Town No Longer. It's Alive & Booming Wow! What an epiphany! Having spent the past 2-3 years searching for Coastal Properties that met our buying criteria, but more specifically our wallet, I started doing some MLS searches along with driving, riding my bike and walking the streets and beaches of this rapidly gentrifying and charming surfing community. Having lived in the North San Diego Coastal area for the past 4 decades and having spent the last 10 years enjoying our vacation home in Leucadia which is only an 11 mile drive south of Oceanside I couldn't believe what my eyes were seeing. As a young surfer in the '60's my buddies and I would drive down "BLOOD ALLEY" the suicidal 2 lane 'Ole Coast Highway 101 (there was no I-5 in those days) to Oceans...

When it comes to bragging rights and Moms there are no limits. Mom! So proud of my darling Mom who turns 94 on Memorial Day and can still beat the pants off of me at Gin Rummy or just about any board game including SCRABBLE.  When it comes to bragging rights and Moms there are no limits. My Mom proudly and honorably served her country during WWII as a Pharmacist Mate in the United States Coast Guard where she consoled and helped heal the physical, mental and emotional wounds of soldiers who fought for America.   She then went on to start raising her total sum of 5 children, 3 of which was as a single Mother, until she met my wonderful stepfather, Buzz, who was the best Father anyone could ever have asked for.  Sure he may not have been my Father by BLOOD. But he was certainly my Father...

Are your parents out living you?    Janis and I had an epiphany today. We're planning my Mom's 94th. She was born on Memorial Day, May 31st., 1922 and can still beat me at gin rummy or just about any board game. Recently, as we all know, we've been losing so many of our Icon celebrities at an unusual and alarming rate.   Check this out for openers and add Prince. What's going on? Are we paying for our SEX, DRUGS & ROCKNROLL?   Just sayin..................................   The first few weeks of the year saw the ranks in rock ‘n’ roll heaven quickly swell, as this gallery of Rockers We’ve Lost in 2016 shows.   David Bowie, Paul Kantner, Glenn Frey and a pair of managers who oversaw the careers of the Bee Gees, Cream, the Rolling Stones and the Yardbirds each passed before January was ...

"Small Is Beautiful" As It Was For This Mixed Bag of Characters I thought this title very appropriate given the small quaint yet very thought provoking, motivating and even inspirational group of male misfits that were in attendance at what seems to have become Jeff Dowler CRS  and my quarterly co-hosted tradition during the past few years.  As the title suggests we didn't have a sell out crowd at our "Spring Into Action Active Rain Springtime Meet-up." But it was indeed a very interesting group of folks In fact when I arrived I went to check in with the hostess to let her know that our party of 8 was waiting  to be seated. She asked me, "which party of 8 might that be Jeff Dowler or John Arendsen?"  Looks like great minds think alike as I turned around and saw two waterfront tables se...

Join Us At The LighthouseOyster Bar & Grill Wed, April 27th 11-1 After previewing a lovely Oceanside Row House that we hope to be closing on May 1st, Janis and I decided to take a nice walk over to the Lighthouse Oyster Bar and Grill which is only about a mile walk, mostly down the beautiful San Luis Rey bike and hiking trail, to the Oceanside Harbor. Upon our arrival and having worked up an insatiable appetite and thirst we were immediately seated by a very accommodating hostess with an infectious smile outside on the upstairs deck overlooking the beautiful Oceanside Harbor Village. The New England and Manhattan Clam Chowder combo along with a nice cool glass of Chard was some of the best we've ever had this side of Boston.  It was a typical beautiful and pristine North San Diego Coas...

Oceanside CA- Spring is Here, Go Ahead List Your Home It's springtime in SoCal and the weather has been great for outdoor activity of all kinds, it's also a great time to list your home for sale if you are planning a move this summer.  Yes, people are outside in the sunshine, playing, working, dining out and many are searching for a home now rather then wait for the summer crowds.  Life  gets going in advance these days.Interest rates are still low, the smart home buyer starts to shop early to take advantage of less buyers to compete with, the idea of knowing and not worrying about the buying process in the busy summer months start to head out looking now! As a savvy seller, nows a good time to drop your fishing line in the water so to speak and hook a big one before they are gone. Feb...
