On Friday, January 10, 2014,  at 9:30 a.m., the Korean Friendhip Bell which sits peacefully on the knoll which extends from the San Pedro side of the Palos Verdes Peninsula, will be unveiled after being restored to its original luster.  The repair work included resurfacing the bell and repairing and repainting the pavilion, with bell masters from South Korea traveling to San Pedro to do much of the detail work ensuring it would be authentic.  The cost to revamp the bell came entirely from private donations.  The Korean Friendship Bell has attracted hundreds of visitors with its massive size and pagoda like stone structure.  On Halloween, the Taper neighborhood in San Pedro possesses some of the best real estate value when it comes to the ability to cover a large territory in a short amount of time and fill your bag with abundant treats. My daughter lives in a super child-friendly neighborhood in San Pedro bordered by Capitol and Westmont.  This little neighborhood is a kid's delight on Halloween.  Unlike most of the neighborhoods on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, the number of hills are limited and their slope is gentle enough for little ones to walk the streets and frighten all who pass them by.  As you can tell from the photo I snapped last year before we embarked on our evening of fun, even the teenagers join in with the feastivities.  It's a very fun multi-block costume party with treats for kids. Prices ranged from $185,000 to $449,000.    As the market continues to be slim pickens for properties, many buyers have turned to condos and townhomes as options for purchases.  However, of the 19 closed sales in San Pedro, CA in September, NONE of them were purchased with FHA loans! This is bad news for so many buyers trying to enter the market and purchase their first home.  Many would think that buying a condo or townhome would be easier and less expensive.  Right now, it is quite the opposite.
