VFW Post 5095 located at 20 North Maple St, East Hampton, CT, will host a public breakfast Sunday March 9 from 8-11am. Breakfast consists of eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage, home fires, toast, coffee, juice  fruit. The cost is $6 per person, and all are welcome to attend. Due to the support  from  our community at these monthly breakfasts, the VFW recently  made donations of $500 each to the local Fuel Bank and to the Food Bank. The proceeds from the March breakfast will be donated to the Veterans Memorial Fund which has undertaken the task of developing a memorial to honor East Hampton veterans that serve during WWII, Vietnam & Korea. On Sunday, March 2, the Middle Haddam Public Library, 2 Knowles Landing, Middle Haddam, CT, will offer a 2 hour introductory course on pysanky-the art of Ukrainian Easter Eggs. Starter kits including beeswax, dyes and a kistka (traditional stylus) will be available for sale at $12 for those enrolled. If you have your own equipment, you may bring that.
