A speed dating event will be held Tuesday April 1 at 6:30pm at Angelico's Lake House, 81 North Main St, East Hampton, CT. The event is for singles ages 28-46. Cost is $30 and includes appetizers. At the event, participants will begin with a creative activity to break the ice. This will lead into their first speed date, lasting 5 minutes. The Newington Children's Theatre will present Cinderella at 7pm Friday April 4 at the East Hampton High School Auditorium, 15 North Maple St, east Hampton, CT. Ticket prices are $8 fro adults and $6 for seniors and children under 2. The Chatham Historical Society will host it's 13 annual Antique Appraisal Day Saturday March 22 from 9am to 1pm at the East Hampton Library Community Center, 105 Main St, East Hampton. Verbal appraisals will be given on vintage jewelry, dolls, toys, quilts, American country furniture, bottle, glassware, china and other treasures for a suggested donation of $5 per item. Anchor Lodge Number 112 invites the public to a CHAMP (Citizens Helping Active Military Personnel) hosted setback card tournament on Saturday March 22 at the VFW Hall located at 20 North maple St, East Hampton, CT. On Sunday, April 27, the 2nd Annual Belltown Spring Sprint will be held, starting at  9:15am, with a one mile Kids Fun Run. The 5K Run/Walk will take place at 10am. Medals will be presented to the top 3 men and women finishers in each age group, and all runners in the Kids Fun Run. For the 5K Run/Walk, pre-registration is $20, after April 20, the fee is $25. VFW Post 5095 located at 20 North Maple St, East Hampton, CT, will host a public breakfast Sunday March 9 from 8-11am. Breakfast consists of eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage, home fires, toast, coffee, juice  fruit. The cost is $6 per person, and all are welcome to attend. Due to the support  from  our community at these monthly breakfasts, the VFW recently  made donations of $500 each to the local Fuel Bank and to the Food Bank. The proceeds from the March breakfast will be donated to the Veterans Memorial Fund which has undertaken the task of developing a memorial to honor East Hampton veterans that serve during WWII, Vietnam & Korea. On Sunday, March 2, the Middle Haddam Public Library, 2 Knowles Landing, Middle Haddam, CT, will offer a 2 hour introductory course on pysanky-the art of Ukrainian Easter Eggs. Space in the workshop is limited, so sign up in person or by phone (860-267-9093). Starter kits including beeswax, dyes and a kistka (traditional stylus) will be available for sale at $12 for those enrolled. If you have your own equipment, you may bring that.
