Today, I experienced one of the most beautiful sunsets in Hollywood after 26 years. There appears to be a magic that occurs after all the rain we have been experiencing these last couple of weeks.  The magic shows up in the many sunsets and rainbows which appear for just minutes and then disappear.  Hollywood At SunsetThis photo was taken from the beach facing west towards the Intracoastal Waterway. Earlier this year, I wrote about the scarcity of developable land in South Florida and how, over recent years, several Broward county municipalities & private golf course owners have sold (entire or partial) golf courses to housing developers. Joining that list of golf courses may be the 240 acre, 36 hole, Orangebrook Golf course. Owned by the city of Hollywood, FL., Orangebrook is the largest of its three municipal golf courses and may also be the largest undeveloped tract of land remaining in the city. The course needs updating and lost $2.0 million during the three year period of  2011-2014. Not surprisingly, city officials are considering what's next for Orangebrook, given its losses and the land's value as developed.  City commissioners will review ideas from developers, but since ... 12/09/2015
