 Where do these unusual city names originate from?  Well when I search the MLS I keep seeing Weeki Wachee and wondered where that name came from.  Now I can stop wondering...plus it turned into a soap opera uncovering a claim against the new park manager. it is a Choctaw Muskogean Native American Indian name and it connotes "Little Sping".  The Choctoaw may have been plant cutters in the Mississppi and Alabama area anas well as Arizona. The Mermaids of Hernando County in this Tampa-St. Pete area town have two enemies thinder and alligators that sneak in. May brought almost a repeat performance of April with two home sales in the Glen Lakes community.  Active home listings decreased slightly with the price range remaining the same.    There were two closed transactions with five homes under contract awaiting closings. April saw a slight upturn for sales in the Glen Lakes community.  There were two closed transactions and the number of homes under contract doubled over March.    Offered for Sale:  79 Price Range:  $99,900 - 600,000 SOLD IN APRIL 2009: Property 1:  $87,900 Cash bought a bank-owned 3/2/2 built in 1991 with 1836 sf living and 2550 sf total, no pool.  The home was on the market for 33 days. We are like every other community in Florida, we have several golf communites.  The community we specialize in is Glen Lakes Golf and Country Club.  It is located north of Spring Hill on Commercial Way.   There are 900 lots in Glen Lakes and I believe only about 700+ sold and having a house or villa built.
