What to do with all these plumbing parts!  Salvage sale in Haiku Maui You know how it is, when you have some spare space you fill it up.  You can never have too many closets.  Likewise when you have extra land space in the yard... fill it up.   My husband brought all this stuff home the other day because it was a good deal and he knows he can use it or sell it.  Lucky we have the space to store it.  He does a lot of work for neighbors, grading, scraping, digging, moving dirt, moving trees, that kind of thing.  Sometimes he needs culverts, pipes, gates, grating, you name it to finish a job.  These items will be very useful around here or there. Hello Mr. Jackson, what are you doing here in Huelo Maui? I was pleasantly surprised to meet this little fellow this morning, as he was crossing the road.  We don't usually find Jackson's Chameleons in this part of Haiku, the Huelo area.  We've brought some here in the past and let them go, but that was a really long time ago.  This young male can't be very old and was probably born here. They aren't native to Hawaii but they have adapted well in the upcountry area of Makawao which is not far away, but a higher elevation.  They like high humidity and need cool temperatures at night. When he's out in the open he's pretty easy to see, and that's how I spotted him.  But just wait until he gets amongst some leaves and greenery, and if you blink you'll never see him again! Haiku Maui Hawaii vacant land sales - Peahi Hui Lands update What's been happening at the newest Haiku agrucultural subdivision?  Peahi Hui Lands Subdivision has been closing on many of the lots since October 30, 2013.  10 of the lots have sold, at full price, but some lucky owners were given a closing bonus as an incentive to close early.  These lots all come with county water meters and underground utilities. Hanzawa's Variety Store in Haiku Maui - Plate Lunch Specials menu When you're hungry and looking for some food in Haiku Maui, don't forget about Hanzawa's Store on Kaupakalua Road.  There's a great little deli going on in the store, with daily plate lunch specails for $7.99.  Also available every day is chili, and poke bowls.  I tried the poke bowl and it was excellent!  Will definitely get that again!
