Long Grove has many very fun things to do In April...  Bring the Family! When I was younger, I grew up in Skokie, and we used to pack our car and go for what we thought was a road trip to Long Grove. Although it was only  around a 15 mile drive it seemed like we were going to the country.   Actually we were since there were relatively few homes.    Taking that trip  to Long Grove was a special day shared by my entire family.  Fast Forward, and I'm not going to tell you how many years....  Now that I live in Long Grove, I love to enjoy everything this historical Village has to offer.  Long Grove's List of Activities In April!  Seasons of Long Grove holds Bunny Breakfast and an Easter Sunday Brunch! Try to visit Long Grove during Easter weekend and  attend the Bunny Breakfast at the Seaso...

Are you curious as to what Long Grove real estate listings went under contract in the first 45 days of 2010?    Everyone else in Long Grove seems to be! Whether you are in the market to buy a Long Grove home or to sell your current Long Grove home, it is important to keep abreast of market statistics (or at least to work with a knowledgeable Long Grove REALTOR who does). Newspapers, national magazines, and television news report on regional and national trends, but aren't doing a very good job of explaining the local real estate market in Long Grove.   The number of new housing starts nationwide or the percentage increase in foreclosures or short sales in the entire state have very little, if any, bearing on how quickly your Long Grove real estate is worth in the Ravenna, Herons Landing...

There are many questions today regarding the length of time it takes to get a short sale approved. Many of our clients in Buffalo Grove, Long Grove, Palatine and Vernon Hills are not aware as to how this will affect them even if they are not upside down in their homes. Please watch this video. It is a real eye opener for all of us. Here are some great questions to ask: What Does is Take to get a Loan Modification? How Do Short Sales Affect the Current Housing Market? This Information Below was provided to us by a fellow Cyber Star Member (Zac Pasmanick) Do you wonder sometimes why it can be so difficult for home owners to refinance and why so many end up in up with approved short sales instead? Apparently, one bank has turned their short sales into a cash cow, and with so much money to ...

One of the main questions that a seller will ask an agent when looking to put their home up for sale in Long Grove is how much commission do you charge to sell our home? This is individual per agent and company. What do you get for the money you pay to sell your home in Long Grove? The old rule of thumb still applies "You Get What You Pay For!" When interviewing agents be sure to ask: Where does my home appear online? How many websites will my home appear on? How many page views does your website get a week? How many buyer leads do you get a week? Where do your buyer leads come from? What newspapers will my home appear in? Do you post my home on social network sites? Do you mail market my home? What type of virtual tours do you do? How many pictures do you post? Do you have a profession...

This past year had been very challenging for owners of Long Grove and the surrounding towns. The chart on this page is from Wagner Appraisals and the numbers are taken from our Multiple Listing Service. The monthly supply of homes in Long Grove, Lake Zurich, Hawthorn Woods and Kildeer has decreased in the last 3 months from about 15 months to 12 months on average. What needs to be taken into consideration is that in 3 months 8% of those homes have been foreclosures and short sales. The days on the market is continuing to increase while the inventory of homes is going down, this can be due to the short sales and foreclosures. So it now comes down to pricing your home right in this market to spark interest in your property, because everyone has a lot of competition out there. On another n...

What should a seller do before they put the house on the market? That is a question that always comes up in my listing presentation regardless of what town you live in. Whether you are selling in Buffalo Grove, Vernon Hills, or Mundelein the house needs to show well. That means replacing broken appliances or fixing them, have the floors in good condition, updated carpeting and the house should be recently painted. In today market the home is basically in a beauty contest and you want to make the finals, along with being in a price war. The pool of buyer out there is way smaller then it used to be. We also suggest having a home inspection as well. Many times there may be small mold in the attic that can be fixed and addressed before the homes goes on the market as well as other issues. T...

As a Long Grove realtor, the number one question that I am always asked is..... "How is the Real Estate  Market Doing?"  Obviously, my clients ask me this question but I am also asked this question by friends, family and/or acquaintances. I am asked this question at the grocery store, while I am walking my dog, at school functions, as a spectator at my son's volleyball game , parties, anywhere and everywhere. So to answer "How the market is in Long Grove Illinois"  I have summarized the following information for my readers. 1. Home prices in Long Grove are currently similar to what the prices were in 2002/2003 2.There were 9 closed sales in Long Grove, Il in November 2009. compared to only 1 home closed in November 2008.   If you would like to know what a particular  Long Grove house ...
