Falmouth MA Real Estate Median Price is up 11% in October 2018According to preliminary data released on Friday November 16th, the Falmouth MA Real Estate Median Price is up 11% in October 2018.  In my earlier blog, I reported that the Cape Cod and Islands Association of REALTORS® (CCIAOR) reported a $49,900 increase over last October's median price for properties across The Cape. In Falmouth, that median price is even higher,  +$51,425.Comparing 2018 to 2017 Year-to-Date sales, 42 fewer homes sold in Falmouth in 2018 than in 2017, but the annual median price is actually up even higher by 13+%, to $472,750. The Falmouth High Class of 2012, also known as the current sophomore class at Falmouth High will be doing light yard work on Saturday, October 24th for all town residents who would like to hire them.  From 8:30 AM-5PM the students will do light chores in your yard for a small contribution to their Class Fund. In addition to communicating with the local Air Traffic Control facility, all aircraft in the Persian Gulf AOR are required to give the Iranian Air Defense Radar (military) a ten minute 'heads up' if they will be transiting Iranian airspace. This is a common procedure for commercial aircraft and involves giving them your call sign, transponder code, type of aircraft, and points of origin and destination. This conversation was overheard this on the VHF Guard (emergency) frequency 121.5 MHz while flying from Europe to Dubai.  It's too good not to pass along.  The conversation went like this...  Iranian Air Defense Radar:  'Unknown aircraft you are in Iranian airspace.  Identify yourself.'  Aircraft:  'This is a United States aircraft.  I am in Iraqi airspace.'  Air Defense Radar:  'You ar... 05/30/2009

Bourne's Pond isn't actually a pond the way I understood one growing up, because it opens to the Atlantic Ocean.  But here in MA a pond is defined a little differently - especially on the coast.  Here a pond is a body of water smaller than a lake, usually fed by a stream, but mostly still.  Bourne's "Pond" has tidal action and lots of coming and going of water, but it is 2 miles from the top inlet to the bottom ocean outlet so maybe some of it moves more than the rest.  We canoe out here and catch/release a few fish every now and then. The swans come here in great numbers.  This morning I counted 25.  There have been more so that isn't a record.  Here are some pics.  There is a lot of bird watching on the Cape, and Falmouth is a great place to see birds. Well the news was made official at 3pm on Monday, Tom Brady is out for the season!  This is a tough pill to swallow for anyone who is a fan of the Pats or football in general.  I know that many out there have had a bitter taste in their mouths regarding the Pats after spygate last year, but I know no one roots for injuries especially one as distructive as Brady's.  The reports are very few and far between, consistent with the Patriots level of knowledge that they give the press, but most are speculating that the injury is a torn MCL and torn ACL.  Wow if that's the case!  Of course the Pats will go on, but instead of Super Bowl favorites they will be lucky to make the playoffs.  I know they still have a lot of talent and have a great coach so we'll see.  Remember Belichicks record for N... 09/09/2008
