Living Close to a Nuclear Reactor

In my travels around Plymouth, MA buying and selling homes, I often come quite near the nuclear reactor named for the historic town - Pilgrim Nuclear and managed by Entergy Corporation. It is the only nuclear power plant in MA. It was built in 1972 by Boston Edison for $231 million and sold in 1999 to Entergy Corporation as part of the deregulation of the electrical utility industry. It's 41 years old. What I didn't know until recently was Pilgrim keeps its spent nuclear fuel in an on-site storage pool, waiting for federal direction on the correct disposal process.
