$800,000 Awarded to County Nonprofit and Faith-based Organizations Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich was joined by County Council Vice President Andrew Friedson and members of the County Council in Rockville this week for the announcement that a total of $800,000 in grant funding will be provided to 91 County organizations to improve security and deter hate crimes. Electric Vehicle Charging Ports Added in County Parking Facilities The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) has added 16 electric vehicle charging ports in County garages over the last four months, increasing the total of electric vehicle (EV) charging ports to 56 for public use in County parking garages and parking lots. Eight ports were added in the NOAA Garage (G58) in Silver Spring this month, four ports were added in the Cordell-St. Elmo Garage (G40) in Bethesda in December and four ports were installed in the Wheaton Market Place Garage (G13) in October.MCDOT has eight more charging ports planned. Learning about ED&C ProceduresThe Physician's Assistant for Dr. Stephen J. Krivda at Montgomery Dermatology Associates called to tell me about the results of a recent biopsy. He advised that I had a squamous cell carcinoma that needed to be removed from the front part of the top of my head. He then asked if I was familiar with electrodesiccation and curettage procedures. I was not familiar with the procedure but agreed to a Friday morning appointment for the removal.  After the ED&C procedure, Dr. Krivda advised that all went well and I was fine until the next appointment scheduled in April.
