Listening to various buyers, I started listing what they said was important when buying a Baltimore home. These things come after selecting the right location, condition, style and of course price range.Here are a few, and they are in no particular order.Kitchen: open floor plan, white cabinets; double ovens; center island; gas cooking, stone or quartz counters; a single large sink; and a walk-in pantry.Parking: two-car garage, carport, but, at the minimum, definitely off-street parking.Butler's pantry for those who like to entertain.Main-level primary suite and laundry on bedroom level. Mudroom or a suitable place to unload groceries, packages, and hide shoes and coats with lots of hooks and storage.Wood flooring/or high-quality engineered wood.Double vanities and at least one bathtub....

What Happened To The Sudbrook Hotel? Built in the late 1800's this hotel, known as the Woodland Inn was in Pikesville.  The dining room catered to the owners of the nearby cottages, and the porch was lined with rocking chairs. This was the 'in' place for Sudbrook Park social affairs.  Sudbrook Park is in the National Register of Historic Sites and Places. By 1924 the hotel was an unused shell and burned to the ground in 1926.  In the mid 1950's, four Cape Cod homes were constructed  where the hotel once stood.   Within the next few weeks, I will be representing one of these  charming homes in Sudbrook Park. This single family brick home has 2 bedrooms on the first floor and a finished attic large enough for two more bedrooms.  The Market Is Not Scary    It is the end of October and I keep getting asked if we should wait until Spring to list. My answer has always been:The best time to list a home is when you and your house are both ready ! Received a call from a couple who are moving to Florida in a few weeks. They were advised to rent because this is  not a good season to sell. It may not sell because it is the end of the year. It definitely will NOT sell if it is not on the market!  Stay tuned to see if they  decide to list or rent.  The Market Is Not Scary

How Did Two Sticks Win? This evening while sharing a lovely dinner with friends, I received this photo on my phone.     My daughter, who sent the photo,  knows I enjoy eating with these two sticks but she was not aware I was using them at the same time. We had a delightful meal at Sushi Sakura, located at 3577 Old Court Road, Pikesville, Md. This is a fun, delicious and quick way to have sushi in the Pikesville neighborhood. The service was outstanding and the owner has a reputation for always recognizing each customer and remembering what they like to order. I am striving for this same reputation..but in real estate.
