The Long Beach Island Surf Fishing Classic will be taking place from Oct. 6th - Dec. 2nd 2012. The Long Beach Island Surf Fishing Classic is an eight Week surf fishing tournament for striped bass and bluefish and is presented by the Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce and national sponsors.Thousands of dollars on prizes awarded daily. Basic Rules: Fish must be caught from the shores of Long Beach Island only—ocean, inlet, bay, and jetties. No boat fishing permitted. Contestants may not use more than two rods at any time. From the time that a fish strikes or takes a bait or lure, only the angler may handle the rod, reel and/or line. Minimum length for bluefish is 32 inches.
