It's November already and the holidays are among us again! Main Street, Stroudsburg, always looks very festive this time of year with the tree lined street beautifully lit.  Another family-fun activity is Friday, November 26...it's the Tree Lighting in Courthouse Square! Sing along to the Christmas carols while the tree lights up the square!  Santa Clause will be there, and you can even enjoy a horse drawn carriage ride! Then, Saturday, December 11th, you can enjoy a Festival of Carols, where area choirs present live holiday music right on Main St. Santa will again stop by to greet everyone. December 5th is the annual kindling of the largest Menorah in the Poconos! This is also at Courthouse Square, and there will be doughnuts, latkes, soup and more to enjoy. Visit with Santa and Horse-...

Someone has put a misleading ad on Craigslist using my contact information but with a different e-mail address and incorrect listing price causing an immediate mess that my managers are looking into. If you are a listing agent with rental properties, beware of a potential scam artist out there.

Last night I had to sing for the Confirmation mass as I do every year with my choir at St. Luke's Church in Stroudsburg, PA. I love participating in this ceremony as I get to watch and pray for this group of young adults who proclaim their commitment to their faith. It is always a grand affair, Bishop and priest from all over the area. Knights of Columbus with their swords and feather plumed hats, Full brass band and us singing like a choir of angels in the background. The Bishop addresses the students and asks these questions... How will you be different after you are confirmed tonight? What will change in your life? After sharing with them many thoughts, he concludes with this true story... One Sunday, in a church in Colombia, where guerrilla terrorist were ramped and regularly attack...

I have seen a surge recently in Stroudsburg real estate showing and sales activity lately. Buyers seem willing to step up in price to get in the highly desirable sections and are now creating bidding wars and prices are now in the low to mid 200,000's. This is a far cry from just a few months ago where you almost couldn't give homes away. South Stroudsburg and the areas just off Rt. 191 South of Main Street, have very beautiful homes in a nice quiet location yet still close to the highway, downtown and major attractions. To learn more about Stroudsburg, PA real estate, call me, Jason Feinman of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Wilkins and Associates at 570-242-0299 or 570-421-8950. If you have been watching "America's Got Talent" over the past few weeks, then you know who Prince Poppycock is and if you watched the final performances you will also know that he got buzzed with a big, fat "X" from one of the judges. Love him or hate him, he made it to the final. He had some appeal but was it enough? All throughout the competition, the judges would make comments to the contestants like. It was a "nice" performance but at this stage in the game you've got to be the best...we are looking for the best! So...it got me thinking...How many listings out there are like Prince Poppycock? Good enough to go so far but not quite enough to take them to the "TOP" of a buyers list. Do they have broad enough appeal to be the winner in this competitive market or are they just "nice en...

My husband and I will be heading to the closing table in a few weeks...next stop...the bank!  While many  say it is a great time to buy, but not to sell, I say... "It's a great time for both...if you do it right!" Flipping homes in this market is not for the faint of heart. You need determination, education, dedication, patience, guts, savvy and a strong dose of faith and trust! Do your homework, do it right, and there is money to be made. Here are five quick tips: Don't pay too much!  ~ Your money is made when you buy not when you sell. Pay too much and you may have trouble recouping when it comes time to sell. Get it looked at. ~ While you may not need to do a full inspection, we always have "Our Guy" come and check things over prior to purchasing as he may pick up on some big money ...

I originally posted this photo and was delighted to see all of the creative and imaginative responses to what various people saw in the shot. You can read them here... What do you see?   The reason I was intrigued with this scene was my sheer amazement of God's great design and the "intelligence" of some of his smallest creatures. I was sitting on my deck, reading my prayers the other morning while the sun was still struggling to find it's strength. I suddenly noticed a lot movement in one particular tree. I had to strain my eyes to see what, to my surprise, was a half dozen birds hiding on the uppermost limbs. I had never seen these birds here before and they were only in this type of tree. There was another tree beside it that was frequented by many a blue jay but these birds knew tha...

Nestled in on busy North 9th St. (Rt. 611) in Stroudsburg, is a restaurant with a non-descript name and a location where if you blink, you can miss it, but you will want to overlook the name and look out for the location, because the place is dynamite. You walk in and you are greeted by Barbara, one of the owners. There is a beautiful Italian feel to go along with large tables, because your meals are served family style. The portions are huge are more than enough to share. You will want more to take home with you as well.  Danny is the chef and he and everyone else makes sure you are enjoying your meal and experience. My wife, son and I ordered chicken parmagian (which is served over your choice of pasta, i.e: fettuccini, linguini, spaghetti) and  meatballs and spaghetti. You can t...

It's a beautiful day here in Stroudsburg (it's already 80 degrees!), and today is all about remembering those who have served and who are still serving today in the military. Today in Stroudsburg, the Memorial Day parade will be marching right down Main Street in front of our office.  There's a hot dog cart and italian ice cart already set up! Come on down to Main Street, grab a hot dog & cool down with an italian ice and watch the parade!  It should be here shortly - it started at 10am in East Stroudsburg and is heading towards Main St, where it will then proceed into Courthouse Square for a ceremony.

Today, there was a 28 truck convoy passing through Stroudsburg on Rt 80, transporting steel from the World Trade Center back to its manufacturer in Coatesville, PA.  Civic leaders there are proposing a new National Iron and Steel Heritage Museum.  We walked up from our office to the overpass and watched this proud procession drive through. Each flatbed truck had a piece of the steel, and most had an American flag draped across it, or the trucks themselves had flags displayed. It was really a great sight, yet at the same time, eerie.  Below are a couple pictures we snapped from the overpass.

I love transforming homes, and as a professional Home Stager and Designer in the Stroudsburg,PA area, I love it even more when that transformatiom leads to success for sellers! One of our local, Stroudsburg homeowners saw the Staging light when his home sold in only DAYS after he had us Stage his property here in the lovely Pocono Mountains. Richard was a "Staging Skeptic". His beautiful home in Stroudsburg sat vacant on the market well over a year with no contract in hand. It was fair to say he was feeling a bit jaded about the selling process as his house sat and sat, empty and lonely and longing for a buyer. It was a gorgeous "craftsman" home situated on a lovely property with acres of land. It was not overpriced, but it was cold and hard and empty. Since nothing was happening, Ric...
