From My Southern Utah Tulips...  Spring has become apparent to us here through whimsically placed, bright pops of color, bright greenery peeking out from under dormant vegetation as if declaring, "I'll show you that winter's over!" These brightly colored orbs of happiness make my lips turn upward, immediately lifting the spirits every single time. Nature's perfection continues to amaze all with the effortless beauty provided daily. From my southern Utah tulips - these two lips are S-M-I-L-I-N-G! Tulips publicly propose absolute admiration and outright affection. ~Wanda Kubat-Nerdin ............................................................. Buying or selling a home in southern Utah? Nerdin Gardens 2020: Be patient. Some things take time.  Every year, our excitement grows while anticipating another successful growing season in Nerdin Gardens aka the back yard home garden. All around us the flowers are blooming, trees branching out and the greenery sporting new growth.  The garden offers a peaceful environment, relieving the stresses that come from daily life. We have grown 6 varieties of tomatoes, zucchini, peppers, peas, artichokes, strawberries, grapes and muscadines. The list changes yearly to suit our needs.  Peace roses, red roses, coral roses, yellow, lavender roses and miniature roses also offer a bright spot of color as well as white, yellow and pink Hollyhocks with vibrant snapdragons. Maintaining a home garden takes much work and dedication. We grow all-na...

Nerdin Gardens: Can you grow your own toilet paper? Many plants can be used for hygienic purposes if ever there was an international shortage. Yet another reason to grow a garden. It is ultimately important, however to know the difference between what works or what could cause future woes. Toilet paper has only been a standard for a century. I remember perusing the Sears and Roebuck catalog when using the outhouse at my Auntie's house way back in Georgia during the 60s as a small child. There was talk about corn cob use as well! The following are some plants that may be substituted for toilet paper: Mullein Lambs Ear Common Mallow Indian Coleus Pink Wild Pear (tropical hydrangea) Large Leaf Aster Blue Spur Flower  Large, fuzzy plant leaves may feel good on the tush, are easy to grow, co...

Hey Bud, That dew look good on you!  As dawn comes to light, a fine mist simultaneously settles upon every available surface. Relieved storm clouds slowly parade past, floating towards parts unknown. The early bird merrily tweets to the red rose bush, "Hey bud, that dew do look good on you." "Why, thank you duly." replies the blushing rose bush. Put your clients wants and needs first in business. It do look good on you too! ...............................................................  Buying or selling a home in southern Utah? Nerdin Gardens: A gardener's work is never done!  Though vines, stems and trees are now barren, getting ready for the next growing cycle is crucial for future gardening success. Not many people see all the behind the scenes preparation taking place season to season. Luckily, we have experienced help. These workers do not complain, are diligent and really dig their jobs! This reminds me of the real estate industry. Clients rarely get a glimpse of what occurs between professionals during a transaction. Cooperation is ever so pertinent when things go sideways, taking a team to continue forward for their sake. Glad to be surrounded by those willing to plow ahead toward success! ........................................ Successfully guiding home buyers and sellers to their real estate goals i...

Nerdin Gardens: The Day Lily  Brought over by foreigners, Day Lilies have existed in the United States of America since the 1700's. Also called, 'Beautiful for a Day', they bloom brilliantly, only to cycle through their life within a 24-hour period. Hence the given name.  Unerringly achieving set goals, Day Lilies create lasting impressions before passing on. Humans have a long lifespan, some making best use of time, others may foolishly believe they possess an endless supply of that valuable commodity. If you only had 24 hours to live, how would you spend it? Lily day tripping, cycling quickly through to the other side. ~ Wanda Kubat-Nerdin

Nerdin Gardens: Fruit Salad  It takes the right combination of knowledge, business savvy and outright determination to gain industry success. A reliable team of professionals is necessary to get to the closing table, though being part of a team may not work for most agents. Years ago, I was part of a team of two. We implicitly trusted each other, were self-motivated and used our strengths to create a successful business environment. He was extremely engaging and I was proficient in advertising and marketing. You could say, we complimented each other, which brings me to this most important point... Grapes, strawberries, blueberries, pineapple, kiwi and cantaloupe blend into a tasty fruit salad. Tomatoes, though a fruit, are a standout and unable to mesh with those flavors, not meant for ...

Waszy buszy?  Consistent hustle and bustle is what successful people do. Are all actions at work intentional and designed to achieve the goals set forth? For most, it may be so but for Bumble Bees, the answer is a resounding YES. It means more honey for the bees and for agents, more money honey!  My advice: Watch the bees and follow suit. Fuzzy wuzzy waszy buszy beezy. Nerdin Gardens: Bodacious blessings!  Yesterday's harvest brought about an over abundance of tomatoes and zucchini squash. Without the consistent nurture factor, the garden would become infested with harmful insects and overcome with weeds. Maintaining a garden is much like running a thriving business by taking time to care, being passionate and following up and through daily. Success can be attained when tried and true methods are regularly implemented.  Complacency coupled with habitual carelessness creates an unsavory environment, encouraging failure. Planning ahead and doing the work sets the tone for success with a bountiful bout of bodacious blessings! Nerdin Gardens: Bodacious bout of bountiful bulbous blessings! ............................................................  Quest...

Nerdin Gardens: Ripe for the plucking or low hanging fruit?  Nature provides for those animals unable to climb for a meal. Our apricot tree has dropped an abundance of overripe sweet, delicious orbs to the ground. A small rabbit is happily taking advantage of the surplus food source. Low hanging fruit is ripe for the plucking, the easiest to harvest and reach. Not necessarily a negative aspect in Nerdin Gardens. ~ Wanda Kubat-Nerdin In business, like nature, knowing where to look for business can present opportunity. Nerdin Gardens: Taters and Mater Tots!  Kenslee Mae squeals with delight when discovering Popop and Gma's house is the destination for the day. While picking tomatoes in the garden, she decided to try one, didn’t like it and put it back in the bag.  This little, adventurous tot loves the great outdoors and can pick taters and maters and squash and peppers and grapes and strawberries in Nerdin Gardens any day of the week as she wishes! Nerdin Gardens: The sunshiney smile of a heart-shaped face.  The Holleyhocks are almost finished with their yearly show and what a spectacular display they set for several weeks. The Calla Lilies across the lawn, now draw attention to my eye, stepping out to survey the back yard garden.  This one in particular drew me to look upon it's colorful disposition, hence the quote. Catch you on the flip side!  That snappy phrase takes on a totally different meaning with nature. Rather than hiding in plain sight on the flower's face, the Praying Mantis implements an advantageous back door approach, taking advantage of unsuspecting fly-byers.  These marvelous creatures gain optimum results, thriving and surviving in a successful environment. They are most beneficial to Nerdin Gardens as well. The more they achieve, the less we worry about pests. Some characteristics of the Praying Mantis: possess a 180 degree head rotation can snatch food right out of mid air ability to remain motionless for extended periods  By instinct, they are stealth masters, adapting to surroundings, often camouflaging themselves among the flowers and greenery. These welcome guests see me long...

The Tete-a-tete was Met with Regret.  Princess Holly donned her finest gown of layered pink satin and flirty hat in anticipation of a secreted visit from her beloved Prince. She patiently waited in the castle's garden for many hours to which he never showed.
