I am a retired Greater Sacramento Realtor. My career spanned 40 years beginning in 1981, and ending in 2021. MY INTERESTS & HOBBIES: In addition to family activities, I am active in a Sacramento history group, and a local Sacramento area genealogy group. I actively research several family names. I also have a special love of cooking. For several years, I worked at an international software development company, which was represented by people from all over the globe. During that time, I was fortunate enough to learn special recipes from a number of them. They include, Indian, Caribbean, Spanish, Italian, Mexican, Romanian, Hungarian, Irish, and Carolina "Low Country" recipes. I have developed a special interest in mixing certain recipes from varying ethnic groups to create unique recipes and combinations not usually seen. Another of my favorite pastimes is gardening. And, I often find myself spending hours in my garden, and wondering where time has gone! I am interested in photography and cameras. This interest began as a child, and has remained and was perpetuated in my Real Estate career, family activities, and travel. Last but not least, I enjoy travel - both foreign and domestic.
Earlier today, I read a blog post from Margaret Rome, titled, “Don’t Assume.” Margaret addressed things Realtors shouldn’t assume about home buyers and their wants/needs.Margaret's words brought to mind similar thoughts I had on this topic a few weeks ago, while attending my high school class reu...
Have you ever had one of those days, where you wanted to enjoy a simple but tasty seafood meal – one without fanfare?  When I first awakened this morning, I found our Sacramento area temperatures had dropped significantly.  And, it was overcast!  At 5:30 am, I couldn’t determine if this was a new...

In Sacramento when temps reach 107 degrees, it's important tasks be completed early in the day. Then have a nice lunch, and understand there's nothing more important that keeping one of your kitties company while he naps, and you watch Judge Judy. We're in a heat wave here. Tomorrow's temp is sla...
I’m ramping up for a busy 4th of July holiday weekend.  Family is coming home to celebrate. That means learning the times of all the local Greater Sacramento fireworks displays and festivities.  There is no shortage of fun packed things to do, no matter which community you live.So for all of you ...
I often say my greatest regret in life was missing Woodstock. However, during the time of that colossal event, I was busy raising kids, and that wasn't all bad. Coupled with my children's achievements, and those of my grandkids, I often feel I'm dwelling in the midst of a rock star existence.Toda...
Yesterday was another really hot Sacramento day - Temp around 105 degrees. Some family members found their way to my home for a little "Us Time." We wanted simple faire, nothing fancy - Hot Dogs, Sausages, Potato Salad, Corn on the Cob, Coleslaw, Watermelon, Apple Pie, etc. However, Filet Mignon S...
My grandkid, Macie, graduated from University of California Davis this morning. It took her just 3 years to get her degree in Cognitive Science, with a minor in Psychology. Not bad for a 20 year old. She's going to take a gap year, while applying to graduate schools. In the meantime, she's got a ...
On this special day of remembrance, I wish to take the opportunity to honor those who lost their lives for the freedoms we enjoy today. I give thanks to the men and women who stood up against all odds so we may continue living our lives at home and in peace. While we are in our backyards or at th...
Yesterday, and early this morning too, I spent time sorting old paper records that were stored in boxes for a number of years. My ole shredder was given a really serious workout.By end of it all, I realized there were many memories those ancient papers had invoked, It seemed I had shredded about ...
