My Professional Story:
I began my career in real estate as a relocation consultant. Working for the largest global mobility service provider, contracted to serve corporations worldwide and US federal government agencies. My job required me to administer and facilitate moving services for employees within compliance of their relocation benefits. I wore many hats, overseeing real estate marketing, the overall sales process, reviewing appraisals and home inspection reports, until eventually signIng off on third party real estate contracts. I was assigned to the domestic markets and worked on residential real estate transactions across the United States, sometimes overcoming different economic housing challenges.
This was the perfect fit for me. Being that I had relocated so often during my lifetime, I had already understood the processes so well, including what the consumer should expect from a real estate agent. Aside from the transactional element, I also understood the raw emotion buyers and sellers feel as they navigate their way through moving from one home to another.
Working for a large corporation and commuting from afar took its toll. So, I decided to get licensed and eventually I became an Associate Broker, specializing in the Hudson Valley region of Upstate New York. Already having a background in real estate, I quickly began to grow as a REALTOR®, and built a proven record of success, consistently earning sales awards month after month starting in my first year. For 9 years I individually ranked in the top 5% in sales for Dutchess County, NY.
Knowing the consumer mindset, I realized early on in my career how most home buyers and sellers start their research, price analysis and shopping on the internet. I quickly learned that to build a successful business it required a heavy online presence and that included blogging. So, I found this network to be the perfect forum.
Fast forward to the Kansas City Metro:
In 2012 I relocated again so that my husband could work in close proximity to his Overland Park headquartered employer. You will notice a lapse in the dates of my blog and some older posts relate to New York. That is due to a long sabbatical I took while adapting to a new area and taking time to gain community knowledge. In April of 2020, I made the decision to return to the real estate business. I take pride in my community and will once again use this forum to share as much as I can on what's happening in Overland Park and the surrounding Kansas City Metro suburbs, as well as Real Estate in general.
Moving forward in 2020:
As I begin to grow my real estate business in Kansas, my clientele will be limited, which makes my dedication of time very special and unique to my clients. I have the experience and knowledge as a top producer. I am a veteran real estate agent, but one who is not weighed down yet with the multiple needs of many buyers and sellers needing to be serviced all at once. My clients can find great satisfaction knowing that they are my priority. I truly appreciate new clients who are willing to support my goals, and my gratitude is displayed in how I work so diligently in return to ensure the best real estate experience possible.
Fun facts about me:
I am high energy. I always need to have something to do. When I am not working, my time is spent hanging out with my high school sweetheart-hubby (Jerry) and our goldendoodle Buddy. We have two adult children who also live in the community (Mission & Overland Park), and our family tribe includes three amazing Grandchildren. I am a retired soccer mom who now enjoys occasional trips to the fields to cheer for the grands who are learning to play. I enjoy easing into each day, coffee in hand, while catching up with friends and family from all over the country on social media and reflecting on the positive things in life. We love a good rock concert from time to time, or a small live outdoor music venue. I like to read when I can find uninterrupted time (which is a luxury, considering how active we are). I love back porch time or sitting by the fireplace, depending on the time of year. We are foodies, so I have great restaurant recommendations for you. I am also a pretty good cook and Italian is my specialty. Lastly, Wanderlust is my middle name. I have found that a getaway of any kind can break up the monotony, reenergize the soul and make us more productive when we return to day to day routines.
