Get to Know Catherine Jenkins

I originally started my career as a sales agent in Bangor, Maine. I gained a lot of experience in land sales, residential, and condo sales. Honestly, not all were easy transactions. One thing my clients know is I will do whatever it takes to make things happen; they know I am representing them. I provide eithical, professional and honest service to all my clients. I received my Associate Broker's license in 2005. I take ongoing training and continue my education exceeding the minimum requirements of real estate licensing.  It is important to stay up on current market trends, real estate law and strategies.  I am currently working on two designations. My goal is to become a Broker in 2009. 

I was born and raised in the Bangor area and relocated to southern Maine in 2004. I love this area, they say there are two Maines, I am convinced of it.  I have that Maine friendliness, and the Maine accent to prove it. I appreciate Maine's way of life.  Remember the days when you could leave your doors unlocked, neighbors were friendly and watched out for each other, a man's handshake made the deal good, a man's word was his honor? Even though Maine has changed; we are still a friendly community. I have 26 years of working in the public sector to add to my skills of a realtor. I am  the proud parent of two adult children living on their own and a third child still at home who is excited to enter high school this fall. I own an African Gray Parrot, and a cat.  Both are wonderful pets.  I also do some respite care for foster parents and foster children. Two years ago, I purchased a duplex and this is the sixth property I have had ownership in over the years.  I love real estate.

I give you the Seller the opportunity to see how your property fits in today's market with a thorough market analysis when you list with me.  There are three reasons why a property may not sell:  Location, market and price.  Location is something we cannot change.  The market is relatively strong and interest rates remain attractive.  Over-pricing is the biggest reason why properties do not sell.  It is so important to price property correctly. Unfortuantely, need for money does not create value. Commissions are included in the marketing price paid when we go to 'closing'.  Buyers pay the commission as part of the selling price.
