2018 marks 15 years for me as a REALTOR after 20+ years in the construction industry from carpenter to senior management. I was born in Kalispell, Montana, and grew up throughout the Pacific Northwest, graduating from high school in Ellensburg, Washington, in 1977.
I lived in Ketchikan, Alaska, in 1981 for a couple years then returned with my bride-to-be, Karen, in 1985. Our family moved to Palmer from Ketchikan in 1999 and are very happy to call the Mat-Su Valley home. This business has its ups and downs for sure, but I love the challenges and especially the opportunities to help my clients realize their goals and dreams.
Over 50% of my business consitently comes as a result of being recommended by a past client or friend! That’s how I like to measure success! My goal for 2018 is to help even more clients, and I’m committed to providing excellent customer service and improving my skills each day to accomplish this.
On the home front, my wife Karen has a challenging career as a counselor (she received her bachelor’s degree in 2012 while working full time), and I’m very proud of her. My daughter, Laiza, graduated from Evergreen State College in 2012 too and is now teaching first grade children in Navajo New Mexico. I have two sons, who are working and still live in Alaska. Karen and I really, really want a grandchild, but the kids just aren’t cooperating! We love all the blessings Alaska and its people have to offer (especially in my case GOLF) and truly believe this is God’s Country.

I moved from Idaho to Palmer in 2009. I was kind of flying blind moving to the frozen tundra and Dave was exceptional in finding me a home and went above and beyond to meet my needs; which weren't always his responsibility. Mid 2013 my job opportunity in Washington state required another move and I didn't hesitate to contact Dave for the selling of my property in AK. He once again went above and beyond his area of responsibility. Overall, a great agent and a great person!

Thank you Dave Johnson at Dave's Alaska Homes for helping us sell our beautiful house. You fought to close the sale even though we hit a wall with the bad appraisal. You kept going at it like a trooper. It made the difference in making the sale go through. Katie and I appreciate all the work you've done. Now relax and read my book, Freeze Flash - Novel (all proceeds go to World Vision International) http://www.freezeflash.net/
Would like to say thank you to Dave and his staff. After many years of showing us houses just to look at we finally made the step into being homeowners. It took time, trials and errors but we now have a beautiful place we call home. Thank you again for everything. , Client — November 4, 2013
I am writing to express my sincere thanks and appreciation to Mr. Dave Johnson and his staff for their assistance in the recent sale of my family home. Resultant from my husbands death, my medical disability and the fact that I had never sold a home before, I started the process with a lot of trepidation. My mind was very quickly put at ease as Dave walked me through each step of the process with compassion, professionalism and kindness. I was kept well-informed throughout the sale, the listing price was spot on and every road bump that I encountered was softened by Dave’s character, assurance and expertise. Thanks to Dave, I have not only sold my home but have gained a friend. I would highly recommend Dave for any real estate transactions that you may need in the future. Christina Dampier
Dave was really great to work with. I had a lot on my plate and found myself in a unique situation that required me closing on the house before a particular date. I had just had surgery, was working full-time, planning my wedding, mothering a 5 year old and on a time crunch. Dave worked very well with my odd schedules and provided lists of homes only catered to the specific needs and preferences I stated. He didn't bother with homes that would incur a lengthy loan closing or those he knew would not interest me. I really liked that he didn't decorate the facts with fluff and try to "make a sale". He was very insightful, sensitive to our needs and extremely friendly and professional. We started the process July 1st and closed on our house Aug. 29th. I'm very thankful for his assistance and would recommend him in a heart beat. -Theresa and Joshua Grantland :)

We bought our first home last year, and Dave Johnson was such an incredible person to work with. He was always professional and on-time, and helped us so much through the ups-and-downs of buying a foreclosure. We couldn't be happier with our new home, and are grateful every day that we found him when we did. He has a high level of honesty and integrity, and we recommend him for everyone looking to buy a new home or property. Thank you, Dave!
Dave sold my house in Wasilla. As issues came up during the process of selling such as well flow and testing, Dave contacted the appropriate professionals to resolve problems. He kept me informed of progress during the closing. He was innovative in using software technology for signing of paperwork over the internet. After having tried using FSBO and becoming highly stressed it was a godsend to have Dave take charge and get the sale done. Dave worked tirelessly in meeting my requirements to sell the house "as is". I would definitely use Dave for any future real estate transactions.
