After serving on the MLS, BOD for Greater NW Indiana Association of Realtors (GNIAR) in 2006 Valerie was elected President; in 2011 she was elected by her peers to the GNIAR BOD and in 2016 rose to President. In 2008 she was elected to the Indiana Association of Realtors (IAR) Board representing NW Indiana and the State at meetings and national conferences in Washington, DC. With our daughter about to enroll in a four-year graduate program at Valparaiso University, my husband and I decided to buy property in the area for her to live in while she attended school. My family and I have moved around quit a bit in our lives and moving around is not easy. For instance when we moved from Wheeling, WV to Fort Worth, TX my wife hadn’t moved anywhere previous and the move was a little rocky. The company that had moved us was not very professional and my wife had to do a lot of leg work in order to find a place for us to reside in. This gave our family a lot of stress, while moving to a new place and getting a promotion to a new job is stressful enough. Well 2 ½ years later came our next move from Fort Worth, TX to La Porte, IN and I thought, “here we go again.” I pretty much prepared my family for the worst. The relocation company contacted us and said that someone will be calling to help you find your new house and take care of your family so there is no stress. I said ok but I didn’t believe them. It wasn’t even 24 hours later and the phone rang and it was our realtor Valerie Rosenblum. Valerie went over a lot of things on the phone the first time we spoke, but all I could remember is her WOW factor. I work in retail and I thought, “That is legendary customer service.” Next we took a plane to Chicago and to meet Valerie in Valparaiso, Indiana. She was so professional and down to earth, it was amazing. At that moment she made me feel that we were welcomed to the area and a piece of Indiana already even though we never lived there before. Valerie took us around to several houses. She didn’t force anything on us and was well informed about each house in detail. She wanted to make sure that the house we chose was the house that we would possibly spend the rest of our lives in. We spent the entire day with Valerie and she even treated us to lunch. This experience with Valerie was not even close to what I have dealt with in my past experiences. I was impressed. In 2005, when we were in the market to purchase a townhouse in Valparaiso, IN for our daughter to live in while she attended Valparaiso University School of Law, my brother put us in touch with Valerie Rosenblum. It was the best recommendation he could have made. We exchanged e-mails with Valerie telling her what our parameters were and scheduled a visit to Valparaiso, IN. The morning after we arrived, Valerie met us and off we ran – literally not figuratively – Valerie had fifteen houses lined up for us to visit; the houses we visited covered all aspects of our parameters and then some. We paired the list down that afternoon, spent the evening driving through some neighborhoods to broaden our perspective, then met with Valerie the next morning and made a selection of the house we wanted to purchase; we left for home the next day and before our plane landed in California, Valerie had confirmation of an acceptance of our offer.
