Jeff Howard entered Real Estate after 25 years experience in the heavy construction industry. He was an Associate broker with John L. Scott for 12 years before getting involved in development. In 2006 a beautiful 50+ acre parcel along the Oregon Coast was available, Jeff became the Managing Member of Reserve at gearhart, LLC to develop and market the property.
The Reserve went on the market in June, 2007 and within months was severely affected by the housing market pullback. Thorugh significant price adjustments, meticulous site maintenance, sales and marketing efforts, and cooperation with local builders, The Reserve remained a going concern. It has aquired a reputation as one of the very few first class coastal communities as a result. Sales are steady and new construction continues to be started on custom and pre-sale homes, creating jobs and providing buyers with a marvelous lacation. Two golf courses and a Silverspot Butterfly habitat border The Reserve. Del Rey beach is a five minute walk away, and Historic Gearhart brings to mind such beach towns as Martha's Vineyard and Carmel.

Jeff Howard is a US Marine veteran and graduate of the U of W school of Business Administration. He has extensive experience in construction followed by a successful career as an Associate broker with John L. Scott. Entering Real Estate in 1990, he was forced to work hard to learn and prosper in the business during a particularly difficult market downturn. While many experienced agents were leaving real Estate, Jeff worked his way into Top 10% status by 1992, and stayed at John L. Scott until development opportunities became available on which he followed up.
The Reserve at Gearhart was a perfect development in which all of Jeff's skills and experience were applied. Arranging for and overseeing the initial construction resulted in a 130 lot community being finished and recorded less than 9 months after ground was broken. The initial marketing rollout was headed up by Jeff presenting at grand opening, and various marketing events which lead to an initial burst of sales.
Once the market turned in mid 2007, Jeff's previous experience in an earlier, similar downturn became invaluable. Juggling banking requirements, sales team members, marketing efforts, and site maintenainance kept the community in the public eye. Local Realtors soon realized that The Reserve was staying successful even as other properties were suffering low or no sales. The participation of several local builders was secured to keep an excitement and vibrant feel of progress in the community.
Jeff sincerely believes that the only way out of a difficult situation is success. That world view is and has been proven with the ongoing success of The Reserve right up to the prsent day and looking forward to tomorrow.
