That is why I had to leave my last agency. The mentor program was a joke and new agents were wandering around with no direction yet the mentors still received 25% of their commission

That is not an issue in my office (It's just me and my broker) I took the following approach in corporate and here with the students:

Answer a few questions and show them where to find the answers for themselves, if time permits.

It's like the old saying: "If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day.  If you teach a man to fish... you get rid of him for the weekend."  (or was that he'll be self-sufficient)

Never talk with them again. There are 2 types of people, those that share & those that don't. Just remember who they are. 

I like people here on AR because they teach & share. There are many agents that feel threatened no matter what. The 'my secrets' bunch.

BUT .... I will not help or share with anyone that is in my market as I consider them a competitor. Case in point, giving them website tips to capture buyers away from my site? Don't think so.
