Don't need to look at any graphs... the fact that 9 out of 10 agents don't renew their license after one year tells me everything I need to know about perception versus reality. The fact that 20% of Charlotte area agents earn less than $10,000 a year tells me all about perception versus reality.

I liked the ones you posted.

When about 90% drop out the first year...that should tell you.

I have worked with hundreds of new agents and some get it, some don't. One thing they all seem to understand after being in the business a couple of months, it is a lot harder than it looks.

I heard a great line on Flash last night.  The four steps of planning:

1. Make a plan
2. Execute the plan
3. The plan goes sideways
4. Throw out the plan

Seems about right for a new agent's plan to be rich and retired in a year.

Interesting ... just last night I had a discussion with my son.  The bottom line was ... "beliefs are powerful" ... to which I added even if the beliefs have no basis in "TRUTH".  Most of the time we can change our "reality" by changing our perception and perhaps our beliefs about certain things. 

New anything lacks actual experience....

I think the biggest misconception of new agents and the general public is that this business is EASY.

Pretty much. Some see the obstacles and some keep their eye on the goal. Some see obstacles as insurmountable and others see them as a challenge and a journey.

Love the reality graphic. True in so many ways. Been there; done that!

I see way too many here in the Charlotte market give up - they won't admit they're giving up but, you simply can't live on their income.  Every new agent needs to see this graphic (the reality graphic)!
