Business is indeed cyclical. Here in Tampa Bay we can always count on the snowbirds buying condos so they can live where they vacation. And we all look forward to the boom during the baseball spring training season. And now we are anticipating the pre-summer, sell before the inventory grows season. All this anticipation has compelled me to visit the pharmacy for more Pepcid.
Preppers are saying, 'I told you so," as the rumblings of food supply disruption reverberates. Economist are saying, "You can not increase the national debt 4x in 4 months without REAL consequences. Nancy says, "it is Christmas all year in DC. We will fix the debt with a balanced budget ...later."
Many businesses are NOT coming back. I watch the commercial equipment boards and see lots of nearly new, commercial and industrial equipment for sale, Going out of business sale.. They need cash now and will settle the debt in the courts.
The near future opportunity is for INVESTORS. Citizens are going to feel the pressure and becoming increasingly desperate.
And long term, the most reliable source of spending money for the gov't is taxing real estate. After all, they know where we live. And that big apple will be eyed as the best way to balance the budget.
A good, really good argument could be made to maximize ones liquidity today to capitalize on opportunity tomorrow.
