Yes, I do agree. Years ago, I decided to cut my own hair in layers...big mistake after taking a big chunk out. My hairdresser gave me a much deserved lecture and proceeded to fix the mess!

p.s. Glad you're okay and on the mend, Will!

When I was much younger, I would have climbed the ladder and climbed the tree and cut down the problem limbs. Now...realizing that I am not capable of doing some things that I used to do, I would call upon an expert. Not only would it get done, it would get done correctly.

Will I know far too many guys that 'thought' they could handle cutting down that tree or fixing that roof and fell off ladders.  I hope you heel quickly and are back to getting around fine soon.  No more ladders!

Happened to a client's  80 year old father.  Climbing trees to prune them or cut them down is certainly for the following generation, whatever adult generation one is.

I think you are a crazy man for trying to do that yourself, especially since you already had back issues.   I know my limitations and rarely try to do that sort of stuff myself, the professionals are well worth the money that they are paid.

Sorry you fell and I hope you heal quickly.  Not too long ago, I sold all of my ladders at our garage sale.  I only kept an eight foot ladder and one six foot ladder.  After living most of my life on ladders, I feel like it is time to move on.

Chainsaws require all your attention and respect by all by themselves. Preparing winter firewood has taught me focus wear protective gear and be thinking about only each delicate move. Same with the log splitter routine. Hope you get back to 100% Will Hamm

Three incidents come to mind. One which I watched happen led to a compound fracture of the victim's femur. Another caused a simple fracture to the man's ulna. And a third resulting in the most severe injury left the victim seriously impaired and unconcious while he baked in the Florida sun for several hours before help found him. He has never fully recovered.
