The 30th Annual International Serenity Run Cedaredge, CO 2015Since 1986 the small mountain town of Cedaredge has hosted the International Serenity Run. Motorcyclists from all over come to town for a few days to enjoy the mountain surroundings and small town hospitality. This group of bikers also celebrates their sobriety and life away from alcohol and drugs. You know when Serenity Run weekend is approaching. There is a little something extra in town. It's not something you see...it's something you hear. Va room, va room...the sound of highly tuned motorcycles is heard throughout town and the surrounding area. An Up Close Look at My Garden...Serendipity SundayThis was one of those rare Sundays where I didn't have to work. There are some chores on the home front begging for me to get to work on them. One of them is my garden. I did spend the better part of today working in my small herb garden and my large veggie garden. This really is a close up look at my garden. I used the macro setting on my camera.All of the plants are looking so good. I got a late start again this year, but the plants are growing just fine and I've already been harvesting zucchinis, patty pan squash and cucumbers. Panorama Heights Real Estate Information July 2015 Cedaredge, COReal estate sales have been slow in Panorama Heights this year. That's mainly due to the low inventory. CREN (the local MLS) reports no sales so far this year in that neighborhood. Here's a look at the homes that are on the market: There are three listings.  Prices range from $140,000 to $237,500. The lowest priced listing is under contract.  While there haven't been any sales this year, in 2014 two homes did sell. One was bank owned and it sold for $117,000. The house needed some updating and cosmetic work. It Was a Lucky Day for Me and Lucky...Saturday Fun PostToday was the annual open house for the Surface Creek Vet Clinic. The owners do this every year and I like to go. This year they were selling hot dogs and hamburgers to help support the Cedaredge Animal Shelter. I was lucky. I got a hamburger. Lucky didn't. Instead he got a bath. I sat back and took a few pictures while four able bodied people bathed my dog in a small pool. Lucky wasn't too sure about this new experience. There were four sets of hands rubbing him all over. I can't believe it took him so long to settle in and realize this was a good thing. It was like a group petting session. The Surface Creek Vet Clinic had several raffles. Foto Friday...Rainstorm Storm PictureThis week we've had some afternoon showers which have helped to cool things off. This picture was taken a few days ago in Cedaredge. I want to share it with you. The lighting was really cool, and even the street reflected the sky. The rain fell very softly for almost an hour. I took this picture while driving around town. I just had to pull over and try to capture the scene. Mother Nature shares some pretty incredible moments. That Was Some Rain...Torrential Rainstorm Hits CedaredgeIt was a typical Friday on Main Street in Cedaredge. There wasn't too much happening. A few people stopped by the office to say hello. Just when you thought things couldn't get more exciting, it started to rain. Now you may not think rain is that exciting, but this storm was a good one. This wasn't just any rain. It was a hard, pounding rain that went on for about 20 minutes. I started to go out the backdoor to my car to get my camera. I opened the door and the water poured in. The back of the office was flooding. The water was rushing like a river down the alley. It was a pretty amazing sight. The thunder and lightning also added to the excitement. Pioneer Town, and the Surface Creek Valley Historical Society, are hosting the annual Night on the Town on June 20th, 2015. Admission is free...so bring the whole family and come on over. Just How High Are You?...This App Will Tell YouI know what you are thinking. In Colorado it's all about the rocky mountain high. You know...measuring your location in terms of feet above sea level. In this country elevation is generally measured in feet. When talking about the elevation of a town or place, sea level is consider the starting point and elevation is measured upward from that point. Accurate Altimeter is a great app for your Android phone. It's also free. It seems to be pretty accurate in measuring the distance of your location above sea level. This app is easy to use. Although I did have to go to the second page and change the measuring device so it would read in feet. That was a simple one step fix. This app uses three ways to measure elevation. Serendipity Sunday...Woman's Best FriendIt's been a while since I've shared anything about my dog, Lucky. He's doing great and so am I. We've settled into a good routine, together. Some of you might remember that I found Lucky back in early February. I turned him into the local shelter. He was injured and I ended up adopting him. Tonight we went to the school track. It's completely fenced so he can run and run. Lucky loves that. I walk around the track while he runs.Sometimes his friend, Madison, comes along. She likes to chase a ball, and he likes to chase her so they have a great time. Tonight she wasn't there, but Lucky still enjoyed just running.  It was a bit warm tonight, so we cut the session short. Last evening, though, he got a long run.
