Even when things are bad, they're good.  That's why I love it here in Southington Connecticut. It's a wonderful community with great people and there are lots and lots of things to do. But what I appreciate most are the schools.  I have 3 kids in the Southington Public School System and I have to say that most days, I am quite impressed with how they're run.  Today a few parts of town were experiencing flooding issues due to yesterday's rain and all the rapidly melting snow.  Dr. Joseph Erardi, the Superintendent of Southington Schools, was kind enough to notifiy all the parents of the potential for delays the school buses might experience due to a few roads being closed.  It was comforting to be assured that our children would be delivered home safely.      Southington has over 45,000 ... 03/07/2011

New Standard Equipment for Property Inspectors - Snowshoes in Connecticut!? This winter has required some drastic measures in Connecticut!  This morning on Facebook, a home inspector out of Southington, Paul Peshka of N-Spect Property Inspections, posted his feet in snow shoes!  Can't get around a house without them lately!  I have an inspection in Bristol with Paul on Thursday, so I will get to see how proficient he is at using them!  I could certainly have used snowshoes yesterday when I was trying to hang a sign rider on one of my for sale signs--climbed over a drift and sank in to my waist!  As Paul heads out to all parts of Connecticut, I am sure he will have some great stories to tell of inspections over the past weeks!   View Larger Map 02/01/2011

On Saturday December 4th I took my daughter to see Santa at The Southington Elks Lodge. The cost of admission? The Haunting on Connecticut. There's still time to pick your own apples at Karabin Farms.  It's one of the many great things to do in Southington Connecticut!   It's our family's tradition to go to Karabin Farms in Southington Connecticut every Columbus Day. I can tell by the crowds that this is a tradition for MANY Southington families - we ALWAYS see lots of people we know when we're here!
