It is downtown Treasure Island on the south site of 107th Ave Near the clock tower, out new treasure Island landmark. They open at 4 pm Monday - Saturday. Treasure Island is a great place to live and play. What are you doing this Sunday? Have you been to the "Bongos on the beach"? I love it and I go there 4 or 5 times a year. It is different and it is fun. Every Sunday for sunset a lot of performers, gather on the public beach in Treasure Island and play the Bongos. It attracts a huge crow all kinds of ages. Everybody has a good time listening and dancing to the music. As far as I know this event is not organized by anybody in particular, it just started somehow with a handful of people and grew and grew and grew. Some people just come by for a few songs, others stay all night dancing in the sand, some just stop on their way to dinner others bring a blanket and a cooler for dinner on the beach. Treasure Island one of my favorite barrier islands here in the St Petersburg area. I probably should not say this because I have a lot of favorite spots between Pass a grille and Indian Rocks beach. Anyway, the fact that I live in Treasure Island tells you enough. Treasure Island has beautiful wide beaches and you can take a long walk from Sunset beach /Blind pass, the most southern tip of Treasure Island all the way to John's Pass Bridge the most northern tip of the Island. Treasure Island is 3.8 miles long walk and it is beautiful. On the way you can stop at Caddy's beach bar for some live music and a drink or you can get some great food at Sloppy Joes or just take a break in one of the small intimate little hotels bars. The treasure Island parade was great. The first thing that actually put me in the Christmas spirit this year. I was invited to a friend's house here in Treasure Island to watch the Boat parade. She lives right on one of the points in Isle of Palms. We could see the boat come through the bridge and than they made a U turn right in front of us. There were 54 something boats, all lit up very pretty. A couple of them stuck out (to me) Like dolphins pulling Santa's sled or a shark with his jaw moving in the back on one boat, one had pelicans pulling the sled. And one of the little boats was just too funny, doing "donuts" to Christmas music. Well, to say the least, it has changed, not only in Treasure Island but Madeira Beach, St. Pete Beach. The whole Tampabay area St. Petersburg area. Make sure you understand the market and the numbers before you put your house up for sale. I can only say it again and again, Real Estate is a local business. The situation in St. Pete Beach might be different than in Treasure Island or Madeira Beach. These little town are only a few miles apart, but trust my, the market is different, not just from treasure Island to Madeira beach but even within Treasure Island,prices on Isle of Palms are different than prices on Isle of Capri. It has been looking like this all summer long in Treasure Island Florida. Lots of dark rain clouds but no rain. I moved to Florida 14 years ago and the first year I was fascinated by the daily summer rain. It would start between 5 pm and 5.30pm every day and it would rain for an hour or so. Well this year is the driest summer I have ever seen here. It has only rained a few times all summer long, if it was not for the reclaimed water my yard would look like a desert. 09/18/2007

I always say "We live in Paradise" so of course my favorite flower is the Bird of Paradise or crane flower. it is closely related to the banana. I just love the colors and the look of it. I have several of them in my yard and they were doing great and blooming fantastic for a couple of years. I was so happy that they are "maintenance free" since I have about 100 something other scrub and plant and trees to take care of.well two years ago was the first time everybody else on Treasure Island had beautiful Birds of Paradise, but me.I tried every fertilizer money can buy and lots of water, you name it. Things to do in Treasure Island Florida, bongos /drum circle on the beach Yes, that is right, Treasure Island has a wonderful event right on the sandy beach. Every Sunday in Treasure Island Florida a huge group of people gathers on the public beach in Treasure Island on the corner of Gulf Blvd and 104th Ave and plays the Bongos. It all starts around sunset and goes on for a couple of hours. It is absolutely awesome -  a fantastic show. Come by and enjoy the music, bring your blanket and cooler if you want to. Treasure Island is a small little barrier Island here in Pinellas County between St Pete Beach and Madeira beach. There are a few neighborhood bars like Ricky T's were you can just go have a drink and listen to live music. The fun thing about this bar is that you will always meet someone you know. Or take the R bar, great place to have "all you can eat" crab legs. My favorite restaurant is  "The Perl", nice atmosphere and upscale food.
