More than likely this will be the only progress post for our home renovation at 5909 Granada.  Honestly I wasn’t expecting the renovation to come together so quickly.  By the looks of things this home will be completed within the next 2 weeks. Here’s a shot of front of the house.  I love the neighborhood this house is in located in.  Fairway, KS has only been a city in Kansas for about 60 years but its still easily one of the nicest suburb cities of Kansas City. This local bookstore has a great selection of books, but it's best feature is the quantity and quality of the book signings/author events in the Kansas city area. Rainy Day Books hosts local authors as well as highly recognizable ones. Usually the event is around $25, but you get a copy of the book and have a chance to get it signed. The author usually speaks for 30 minutes and then does the book signing. The only thing is, the more well known an author is, the more likely the event is to sell out! It was 2 years ago that with great sorrow that the world famous Stroud's closed it's south Kansas City location. The unforgetable wobbly old barn just off of 85th & troost has been know for it's pan fried chicken for over 70 years. The rumors have been circling for 2 years now about where the new Stroud's would open. Just as many of us were about to lose hope, our prayers were answered.Stroud's has finally found a new place to call home, in Fairway Kansas on Shawnee Mission Parkway. Renevations are underway and soon we will be able to sink our teeth into that juicy pan fried chicken, mouth watering Cinamon roles and hearty family style sides.It looks like KC's loss will be Johnson Counties gain but reall it is everbodys gain because Stroud's is the best chicken you will ever have. 12/05/2007
