  The Latest from the Gulf Oil Spill Front:   For several days we’ve had reports about the well pipes below the sea floor being broken and leaking.  Is the BP Gusher Unstoppable? B.P, Halliburton and Transocean have unleashed Armageddon and now there is no stopping it. Oil Confirmed to Be Leaking from Cracks in Sea Floor   Meanwhile, BP has doused the Gulf area with over 1.3 Million Gallons of the toxic dispersant Corexit.  This toxin was banned by the UK in 1998 but was somehow approved by the EPA and used by BP. Recently, the EPA has demanded BP to stop using the dispersant. BP flat out refused.   I still don’t know who’s in charge.  Is it BP, or is it the Coast Guard? I have spent more time fighting the officials of BP and the Coast Guard, than fighting the oil. The boom is not working.   Please don’t rely on the boom in Florida, unless they get ocean boom, which we said from day one, is the only thing that will keep the oil out.  It’s a joke! We have to find someone to put in charge that has the guts and the will to make decisions! We’ve got people in charge that don’t know what they’re doing. Thousands and thousands more birds will die, hundreds and hundreds of turtles and sea life, every day we leave that guck out in the Marsh.   In an unprecedented move, the Plaquemines Parish council today may vote to defy federal regulators and fund the money for the construction of an unapproved sand berm, to protect the coast from the Gulf oil slick. Parish President Billy Nungesser says he's ready to go to jail, if he has to.When the council meets in Belle Chasse today, Nungesser will ask them to approve $1 million so the parish can hire a dredge to start building a six-foot high, miles long sand berm. He says he's tired of federal officials delaying the permits."Let'em put us in jail. I'm not going to sit around and watch while our marsh is destroyed," Nungesser told WWL's Garland Robinette. We spent Sunday in Belle Chasse at the 2009 N’Awlins Air Show and it was AMAZING! I haven’t been to an air show since I was in high school and wasn’t quite sure what to expect. We started out early in the morning, stopping for breakfast before heading over to NAS JRB New Orleans. Even before 9 am, people were streaming through the gates and spreading out over the huge area next to the runway that the show took place on. The Virtual Army Experience was on hand, so we all signed up for our “mission” and took our places in a Humvee. Virtual reality took over and we were transported right into another place and time – charged with taking out the enemies along the way. If being in combat is even a half a hair as loud and confusing as this was, we should all shake the hand of the next soldier... 05/04/2009

Overall for 2008, Belle Chasse is the bright spot in the West Bank real estate market. The number of homes sold remained steady from 2007, while the average sold price actually increased. This is a great performance, especially considering that home sales across the West Bank decreased both in number and average prices.
