RE/MAX Professional Associates Holiday Open House - What A Blast! This past Wednesday, December 23rd we had our Holiday Open House in our Spencer RE/MAX Professional Associates office.  Canned foods were collected for donations, there were tons of yummy refreshments and lots of friendly faces from the real estate community.  Some of our mortgage partners and co-brokers from other local offices stopped by for the holiday get together.   It was so nice to just catch up with everyone and spread some holiday cheer.  Even with the snow flurries on and off all evening and Christmas just days away, we had a great turnout!  Thank you Pam Crawford & family for planning and putting it all together.  Her lovely daughters were such great hostesses.   Hope everyone has a happy & safe New Year's!  S... 12/26/2010

The Richards Family of Spencer MA recently lost their home to a fire which destroyed all thier belongings and sadly, their pets. The Salvation Army Needs Furniture and Outerwear Donations If you live in Central Masschusetts, perhaps you also received the call:  The Salvation Army is in need of furniture donations as well as warm weather wear.  With fall's arrival comes a change in clothing requirements, and this year the supply of coats and jackets is low at Salvation Army. The Salvation Army also is in need of furniture donations.  If you have some items that you have been thikning about putting in a garage sale, or giving away, consider dropping them off at the Salvation Army. Spencer Lions Club I had the honor and privilege of being invited to the first Lions Club meeting of the season for Spencer. It was held at the Lashaway Inn in East Brookfield, Wednesday evening. The club usually holds their meetings in the town of Spencer, but the place they usually hold it at is being sold. I found they are actively looking for a new home. This challenge did not deter this lively crew.I found out that this is a very giving organization, that donates 100% of their fund raising monies to the local community and people in need. They have several fund raising activities that they conduct through out the year. They also collect glasses and you will find their glass collection boxes throughout the community. The Spencer Fair is Here! It's that time of the year that the Spencer Fair is here.  This is a fun early fall event.  The fair was not a disappointment this year.  There are many events going on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday of labor Day weekend. Birds of Prey was a very interesting exhibit.  There is also Bengal Tiger show, Robinson's Racing Pigs, The High flying pages, the FMX Motorcycle show.  The band stand features Karaoke, T-Bone, The Great Grossini, The Divine Addiction, and Dan Candell. Many enjoyed the cow barns.   The 4H barns had great crafts made by the young residents of Spencer.   If you enjoy the great country atmosphere, the smell of sausage, onions and peppers, and the flashing lights of carnival rides, then a trip to the Spencer Fair should be part of your Labor ... 09/04/2010

The family and I spent the day at the Spencer Fair --- One of the fun things to do is to look at all the animals.  We saw chickens (hatching too, check out the picture), cows (baby and adult), rabbits, geese, birds, and much more....     It is such a great opportunity to view these babies...reminding us of the cycle that must continue.... Black and White Grill-A Great Place to Bring the Family   The Black and White Grill, located at 206 North Spencer Road, Spencer, Ma recently opened it's doors.  This restaurant had been around for years, but closed it's doors last year. For those of you who are familiar this the restaurant, you will not be disappointed. Although the building has had some minor changes inside and out, it still resembles the old Black and White.  Even some of the wait staff was familiar.  The new Spencer restaurant owners have gone with the Black and White theme, freshening the exterior appearance with a new paint job and  black canopy.
