The entrance to Long Beach Island has been marred for almost 20 years by an unused gas station. The plot of land in Ship Bottom is located between Eighth and Ninth streets and adjacent to the end of Route 72 eastbound. After the closure of the gas station, groundwater contamination was discovered at the site. The cleanup and remediation process has been going on for 10 years. This parcel of land, located at the gateway to Long Beach Island includes two parcels which werre purchased in 2004 and in 2008. The demolishing the of building and trying to finish the remediation, which will take a couple of more months, before submitting plans probably for the April meeting of the Planning Board.  The developer of the project has said that "it's pretty much going to be an old business with a ver...

Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Active Rain You got your self a brand new web site and put all of your listings up.  Still no one is visiting your sites, your not getting any feed back or leads.  Social Networking is useless to you That statement is completely correct if you don't know how to leverage it.  It is a very complicated thing and actually can be oerwhelming at first, especially if you aren't a computer person to begin with.  My story is similar to this.  Although I had experience with computers in the past and I knew all of the basics, I stil couldn't wrap my head around the concept of socia...

A great thing about living at the Jersey Shore is you're never too far from the Atlantic Ocean.   With temperatures on the mainland at 65 degrees today, and finding 90 minutes in my schedule, it meant only one thing. Over the Causeway to Long Beach Island.  Though it was a little cooler over there, man and dog were shaking off cabin fever!   Fresh Ocean air! It's Spring at the Jersey Shore! And dogs be here!

It's December, and I am getting back to my winter schedule.  That means my gym visit is early!  After working out,  sometimes my car knows just what I need.  I don't know how it knows, but it takes me across the Route 72 Causeway to Long Beach Island.  Just in time for the sunrise. Ship Bottom, 12/2/2010 6:55AMAt 7:00am it was just me & the gulls! It's a great day to be a REALTOR at the Jersey Shore! These pictures really don't do justice to today's (12-2-2010) sunrise in Ship Bottom on Long Beach Island.  Though it's chilly, the sunrise over the Atlantic brightens my outlook and gets my day off to a great start.   Hope your day is rewarding!

Long Beach Island, NJ Sunrise November 2010 Ship Bottom, NJ Early Morning Gulls Long Beach Island, NJ Ocean Calm November 2010 One of the things I love about living on the Jersey Shore is the Atlantic Ocean...just minutes from my front door.  I out the door this morning, regular time, headed to the gym.  I realized, half way there, that it's Sunday and the gym opens later.  No problem!  Over the Route 72 Causeway I went, from Manahawkin to Long Beach Island, in time to see the sunrise over the Atlantic from the beach in Ship Bottom.  A visitor even offered to take my photo!   Laura Giannotta on Long Beach Island! "I've got some great waterfront property at the Jersey Shore!"

Don't Miss Out on the Striped Bass and Blue Fish Run along The Jersey Shore November is an exciting time for both the beach and boat angler as the migration of striped bass and bluefish along The Jersey Shore will reach its peak. The largest concentrations of both of these species will be found this month and famous "Jersey Blitzes" will continue. Fishermen will also have an opportunity at targeting and landing some of the biggest bass and bluefish of the season. As air temperatures get colder and water temperatures drop on The Jersey Shore, the greatest activity and feeding takes place as falling water temperatures are the impetus that triggers striped bass and bluefish to feed as they bulk up for their migration to the south. During November it will not be uncommon to land stripers th...

Can I Make Money Surf Fishing on Long Beach Island? You bet!  It's October, and it's the Annual Long Beach Island Surf Fishing Classic which began on the 9th and runs through December 5th.  The striped bass and blue fish competition offers daily, weekly and grand cash prizes in general, children’s, student, ladies and seniors categories. It's early on in the competition, and current record striped bass (caught on October 22, 2010) stands at 56.44 pounds caught in Haven Beach, on the south end of Long Beach Island by Ray Sullivan.   That's the largest in Long Beach Island Surf Fishing Classic history.  But Bob Misak, from Barneget Light Bait and Tackle, predicts a 60 pounder will be caught before the LBI Surf Fishing tournament ends on December 5th.   Nearly 1,000 anglers register each y...

The Surflight Theatre, in Beach Haven, will remain open for at least another season after the recently hired chief financial officer revealed that he had miscalculated the debt owed by the group.  It was originally estimated that the theatre owed more than $500,000, but that approximation was off by about $370,000.  The theatre company officials said several measures will help keep the Surflight open through the off-season.  The theatre will not have to make principal payments on its bonds for the next 6 months and more cash will be used to pay down short-term loans.  The top staff at the theatre will also be working without pay for one year. The Surflight Theatre first opend it's "doors" in 1950 in Beach Haven Crest, on Long Beach Island, in a shaky 2,200-seat tent with a cast of 60, a...
