Above you will find a graph from Real Estate Information Services, Inc. that shows the number of single family permits along with the number of new home closings from October 2010 through September 2011.  As you can see, both are trending upwards in this 12 month period.  I predict that we will continue to see this slow and steady growth in 2012 in our local market.  Interest rates and low down payment along with builder incentives are all great reasons to buy!

Where Do America’s Most Attractive People Live? By MEGAN FRIEDMAN | @megancarol | November 10, 2010 | 6   inShare39 GETTY IMAGES Charleston residents even get to ride around in carriages. No fair. Los Angeles? New York? Not a chance. Apparently, all the hotties hang out in Charleston, S.C. According to a survey conducted by Travel + Leisure magazine, the southern city is home to the most attractive people in America. The prettiest populaces tend to live in places that are either sun-kissed, like Honolulu, or active and athletic, like Denver. The cities NewsFeed thought were sure bets — New York and L.A. — rank lower, possibly because they scored low in friendliness. The worst-looking city? Memphis, Tenn., with a low rating that could correlate with its top rank in barbecue. This is no ...

Charleston SC Realtor Bryan Thompson wanted to highlight readers on some myths and facts of Charleston.  Rewriting History: After nearly three decades, Charleston updates its notes for tour guides BY ROBERT BEHRE rbehre@postandcourier.com Monday, December 12, 2011   The bible for Charleston's tourism industry has just been rethought, rewritten and is now on sale. No one expects it to become a best-seller. For starters, its title is long and not very catchy: "The City of Charleston Tour Guide Training Manual." But for the curators of Charleston's history, the new book represents an achievement more than three years in the making, one that will play a vital role in educating those who educate others about the city's past. I love living on the coast and even better such a fantastic city!  Great weather, always something going on and great people are everywhere... This morning was the annual Reindeer Run.  I've done it for years but this year had a few significant differences in store: 1.  I talked my hubby and son into joining me 2.  I hurt my foot so instead of running I was going to have to walk (pro - the route is fantastic and walking allows one to enjoy, con - a race is a race and gosh darn it, I wanna go like the wind - ahahahahaaaaaa). The event draws a great crowd (people, stollers, and dogs) and most dress up as elves, santas, reindeer, or at least have on a fun hat.  Sorry, we were only doing the hats this year.   I love that in life one never stops learning and this morning my lesson was - 11 y...

Charleston, SC - Tri-County Real Estate Pricing Stats   There are many reasons why the real estate market rose to such crazy high numbers between 2006 -2008.  I'm sure you've heard many people's opinion on the rise and also have your own thoughts regarding the rise.  The problem now is that anyone that bought during that time period will not be able to sell for that amount of money they paid.  Sometimes looking at charts and seeing the lines makes it a bit easier to understand and believe.  It's not about your house being nicer than the one down the street.  Numbers are numbers.  The point of making sure you home looks nicer than any other is so that it is the one that will get the contract.     Charleston, SC - Tri-County Real Estate Inventory   High inventory is not helping our market...
