The turkey is DONE! What a great Thanksgiving we all had here in Charleston-and, now, as we begin the more solemn season of Advent, it still gives me great excitement to know I will be in many of the finest homes in Charleston during the season for holiday cheer. If you have not visited our many beautiful churches (Saint Stephen's Episcopal Church in Ansonborough) or, St. Mary's Catholic Church on Hassell (pronounces HAZEL) Street, you must see them this time of the year. Charleston tends to not be as "flashy" as other cities-and, holds to older traditions of style and grace during the holiday season of decorating, and, especially on our doors and lawns. The Charleston restaurant menus change to a more fall and gamey menu including on of my favorite restaurants, FIG Charleston and Husk-...

Finally made it to our local fair last night and we had a great time.  In the past, we'd always attended on the weekends and usually didn't have enough steam to last very late into the evening.  This year we hit it on a Thursday night and it was a great change!  Less people equaled short lines for food, rides, and bathroom breaks!  Plus the rides and the food stands are so much prettier all lit up at night!  We even saw the fireworks this year.   We ate a large assortment of food on a stick and food that was fried.  Fried pickles, fried oreos, fried butter... but we didn't buy the fried kool-aide.  Maybe next year!   Coastal Carolina Fair  - still time to go if you are interested

Charleston SC Realtor Bryan Thompson has listed this stunning home on John’s Island, SC.This home is very close to the John’s Island Airport and just a short drive to Kiawah Island. This home shows like a beautiful plantation home, on nearly three acres and the interior is frankly stunning. Says Charleston SC Realtor Bryan Thompson, “This home reminds me of my Grandmother’s Plantation Home, minus all of the property” (although, there are nearly three full acres here on deep-water). With quick and easy access to the John’s Island airport, you are on Kiawah Island in minutes, and, downtown Charleston for Spoleto events, Dinner and Dining. This location is perfect for people who beg to be away from Manhattan and the burbs for a quick two hour flight into their own private paradise. Offered...

How is our market doing compared to 2009 and 2010? August 31, 2011 - 7,271 active residential listings: down 17% from 8,781 same date 2010 down 20% from 9,059 in 2009   MLS closed residential sides January 1 - August 31: 12,102 in 2011 up 2.6% from 2010 (when we had the first time homebuyers stimulus) at 11,792 up 20% over 2009 at 10,092   The bottom line is that we still have economic and industry challenges and a long, bumpy road to recovery to a healthy real estate market, but we are making progress.  Our market is 20% better than it was 2 years ago in units, and 16.5% better in volume even with softening prices.     Please contact me with any specific questions you have:
