Just a quick blog about the Texas Association of Realtors Winter Meeting.  So far there are some good sessions.  Yesterday's class was on the Code of Ethics and the Professional Standards committee's duties in judge claims against realtors and brokerages.  It's great information to have when trying to improve the industry and see problems before they become your problems. Today I spend the afternoon in the Lone Star CRS committee meetings.  It's odd to me that me and my friend, Leslie Wilson, are the youngest ones here.  Why is it that traditional certifications and the boards themselves are not attracting the younger, techsavy agents into their ranks.  One possible answer is that the leadership of those organizations don't reflect the demographic they're looking to attract. Something pretty cool is happening in Carrollton, Texas.  There is a brand new Townhouse Neighborhood that is pretty close to having it's three models ready.  My guess is that by January 30, 2009... the models will be complete. If there is one thing I can appreciate it is good Cajun and Creole food.  At Dodie's Seafood Cafe located in Carrollton, TX.  they really know their business.  The first time I walked in the door (probably four years ago) I was transported to many vacations spent in New Orleans on Bourbon Street.  The wait staff is courteous and the food is authentic.  So if you are wanting good food at a reasonable price but don't have time to visit The Big N.O. drop by Dodie's on Josey just north of Frankford.  You will enjoy it. I just left a networking event where I asked everyone to raise their hands if they have heard or believe that there is no money out there if you want to buy a home today. Ninety percent of the people raised their hands. It is simply NOT true!
