While a tad bit pricy, it is the best video editing software I have used and recommend it to anyone who wants to take their videos to the next level.

I've owned four of these or similar models in this series. Why so many? I need at least two working ... more I've owned four of these or similar models in this series. Why so many? I need at least two working computers for our home office, and this series was well priced for the features offered. But it has some problems, required replacement eventually, and Dell offered free replacement with a similar model. I decided to write this review because I notice both here and in some tech forums that other people run into the same trouble I've had with the Inspiron series, particularly the desktop models. The good: There's arguably no better option for an economical, full-featured workhorse computer. Dell allows you to customize your options so if you're a power-users (I am) you can choose more and faster RAM, faster processor, and whatever array of bells and whistles suit your needs. OR leave out things that add to the cost that you won't use. Some of us don't need wifi because we use cables, so save a few dollars! Dell gets decent ratings on reliability and high ratings for service compared to other companies. And this Inspiron series as desktops was priced much lower than laptops than had half the memory and RAM. I do have a laptop. But for office work a speedy desktop is much cheaper. The bad: Any computer will fail over time but these have a tendency to have problems early. I've had 3 fail, two replaced for free and am in that process on the third one. Right now I'm using number four which is the youngest and still working perfectly. The pattern of failure is especially frustrating because it can be misidentified by the tech service. Usually it starts with the HD sounding odd for a few seconds every now and then. Sooner or later (in days or months) you will either not be able to power it on or it will power on but you never get anything on the monitor; it will simply not boot up. Why? Initially after running al the diagnostics it may show no hardware problems, so you'll be told it's a software problem (yours to solve). Or the hardware issue may show up on those diagnostics. After 3 rounds of this I can tell you all three eventually proved to be hardware problems. I paid for the replacement warrantees and Dell was good about getting me the new replacements quickly. I've owned a lot of computers over the years and no brand is perfect. All of them have problems. I don't think Dell is much better or much worse than most. I do think there service is very good even over the phone. My advice is PAY FOR THE WARANTEE when you buy any computer, unless you a OK replacing it in a year or two or spending some money on repairs. Then be happy if they keep working three or four years without problems.
