I grew up in Tennessee with nine brothers and sisters. After college I worked as an advocate for battered women and children until I moved to the Crystal Coast of North Carolina in 1992. At the urging of my best friend, a very successful REALTOR®, I earned my real estate license in 1996 and have enjoyed this career ever since.
I love to learn and thoroughly enjoyed earning my degree in Psychology with minors in Social Work and Creative Writing. If I had not been a single mom with two daughters to suppport, I might have been a career student. Since becoming a REALTOR® I have earned most designations offered. I always take extra electives because I am convinced that the letters after my name and staying "legal" regarding continued education are not what matter. What matters is staying up to date on the changes in our business and learning new ways to better serve my clients.
I love to write. I currently write real estate articles for two small local newspapers and my church newsletter. I also write blogs from time to time and have had fun with Active Rain in the past.
When I am not working with buyers and sellers, I manage a real estate firm that I started in 1998. I serve as Broker in Charge and love mentoring my "team".
I serve as the Youth leader of my church and can't imagine life without "The Kids of St. Francis", my church youth group.
I live in Pine Knoll Shores, North Carolina which is on a little island off the coast. I love being near the water. I enjoy kayaking, hiking, biking, walking with my dogs, and spending time with my husband, our children and grandchilden.
The best way to reach me is by texting or calling my cell phone at 252-422-9000 or by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Kick off your shoes. I'll see you at the beach!
