Growing up here on the Outer Banks is definitely something to brag about. Steps from the beach and sound, great school systems, and a loving community, it's no wonder why I stayed here and am choosing to raise my own family here. With my husband, my daughter who is three, and with one on the way due in November, I can think of no better place to be.
Having grown up here, I have learned much about these barrier islands we call home, or would like to call home. I have stayed through many hurricanes and know exactly what does and does not flood.
