Indeed it does ... step aside out of the greed and ego and contribute to other. There are far too many in America that live like this.  

It means you are extremely blessed.
For me, it means my head has not yet done the 'purple explode' thing . . . but it's only 9am Saturday morning and the day is young!
There but for the grace of God go any . . . pay something forward at all opportunity.

We all choose our own roof I suppose. Ours is not to judge another person's roof choice, but to be thankful for the one that shelters our selves and our families; families we're blessed to have. At one point my roof was a 1972 Ford Pinto station wagon. So, having lived in my car, when I was 17 for a period of time, I know this all too well and count my blessings under any roof.

Can you say "perspective"?  

To me personally Jack Lewitz it means a house I own. I understand it means different things to different people and some folks would be content with a cardboard box. What ever it means to who ever I wish them all a Happy Easter with a roof over their head.

If we were aware how many families are one paycheck away from extended homelessness, we would truly be grateful and make every effort to be found guilty of reckless generosity.

You are correct it means many different things to different people. I think it means security & comfort. It will be different for each buyer so you have to find that out before you start.

I spend enough nights sleeping out in the woods in the winter to really appreciate the shelter of a home.

I hope, we all are able to have a real roof over our heads.....In Los Angeles, we have a huge communities of homeless, it is sometimes like small tent cities next to real buildings...

Something that keeps you out of the elements and away from predators, someplace you feel safe.

Sure could not imagine living like this ever.  Would work many jobs so to have a true roof over my head. 

Sounds like a term my dad would use, along with we were going to go to the poor house.

I am with Carol Williams .  What a sad shot.  Given the amount of money spent on this problem both by the government and the private sector, it is hard to reconcile the fact that this still exists.  A

 I have very mixed feelings about this subject ....

That's a shame, but also a fact of life. Some aren't so fortunate. 

I feel blessed to have a nice home and we take care of it and maintain it. There are those that live in the streets and want a home and then there are those that are content for the time to live that way. I have talked to many of them and it is a mixed bag of why they are in these situations. Some feel solace in living with others that share this lifestyle.

Security!

In a general sense, it means shelter.  Could be a hotel while traveling or a cave/lean-to/tent if out camping.

In a more personal sense, it's the house I own and the roof.

we each have our own castle, don't we!!!

Security from a position of security anything is possible.

To me 'a roof over my head' means shelter Jack Lewitz.  To me 'a house' is a dwelling that I make into 'my home'.

This picture just hurts my heart and it is replayed in so many cities in our great country. It is time that we took the homeless issue seriously and help our citizens who need our help.
