I try to dress one step above what I believe my clients will be dressed and or depending on the property.
No suit and tie to list a working dairy farm.
No shorts and 'T' to list a $500,000 home.
I think you get the idea

Bob,
Besides matching, the most important thing is to be comfortable in your clothes. We always suggest to our clients to wear comfortable for photos and for important appointments. A

Going with my motto:
" Be A Professional "
that is not only how I act but how I dress. Today, my assistant and I both wore our Bank tops with slacks and MUD BOOTS because we went to see our client's NEW modular home being delivered and set up. Of course when we left, the boots came off and the heels went on.
Neither of us was wearing a belt. It would have clashed with the boots !

I like to dress conservatively, with just one piece of flash - be it some bright socks (I think Jeff Dowler CRS would agree), a shiny watch, or a drop of color somewhere. I think being comfortable and confident is dressing for success. And yes, match the belt & shoes.

LMAO, here Bob. I don't wear belts and when I do wear a decorative one, it never matches my shoes as it's an accessory for my outfit. Then again, I'm a modern woman, and my handbag does not match my shoes either and I mix silver and gold jewelry! Nor does the nail polish on my hands always match that on my toes. Don't know how much these "lady" tips have helped you however!

I rarely wear belts but do dress in a way that communicates I am a professional. Kauai is a different environment than many markets so what we wear might seem like business casual to most agents.

Well, my clients today hugged me and said "You're so pretty and you smell good!" so I think I did fine in jeans, a nice top, Sketcher Walkfits in black leopard and my Cuba Sparkly Tiger perfume. (Just do what's appropriate and makes you feel shiny) 3:)

1. Clean and tidy.
2. Even on a muddy farm, dressed down looks a lot less shabby when it is ironed. I know people who press their blue jeans. Sounds odd, but I have to admit that the kids always look great.
3. There are colours that make us look grey or ill, and colours that flatter us. I recommend you find yours that flatter, and wear them. Some people look stunning in black, but I definitely don't. I look better in greens, chocolate browns and other Fall colours. From your videos on-line, you may also, but I really can't tell. If you have (or used to have) red in your hair, find the blues and greens that flatter. Black may not be your best.
4. The colours we love to look at are very often not the colours that flatter us best. The colours you love to see belong on the walls, and the colours that flatter you belong in your closet. : ) Best of luck, and I hope you have fun with it.

In general:
business outfit: matching (finish and texture) belt and shoes pulls your look together;
casual: shoes and belt should coordinate.

Great question Bob. I love to dress up my husband, it is amazing what clothes can do for a man!
I think a neatly ironed, button down shirt and slacks look very professional. A polo shirt and tan pants are nice for a more casual look. Yes, the belt and shoes should match.
If you are not sure about colors, you can ask the salesperson for suggestions. Good luck!

I never thought of that. My belt is usually black as are my pants and my boots. Today I'm going casual with tan pants, belt and boots (simply because I haven't fit into these pants in over a year!)
Now the big question is having a holster that matches the pants! Tan pants and a black holster (and gun) kinda clashes. May have to buy a tan gun and holster now... Any excuse right?

Yes, I do wear alot that matches Bob "RealMan" Timm! Wear pants with loafers and tops with jackets! Very similar to my last job as I'm used to doing alot of walking, and not always on flat terrain, plus bending over and reaching up with signs from the trunk into the ground. Need not to worry about my clothes! If I'm going to an event or party or seminar I can afford to look way nicer . . .
