Ours will still play jump rope and hopscotch with the kids on the street and rescue kittens in trees.  We're good!

Nope, everything is cool in surburbia. I like the police, wish other people did.

Our Fort Bend County Sheriff proved himself during recent floods.  He even adopted a dog that was tied to a fence and left to drown in rising waters.  Houston is a big place and there is protection from many different law enforcement agencies.  My son in law works for one of them.  I hope, because of our diversity in this city, that we can work through the mess we have right now, but you never know.  People have lost their damn minds.

the Franklin Police Dept, is the best.... we have great law enforcement on many levels in my area.... my family members are part of that community....

The various police forces in Canada are generally well regarded by Canadians.

In the Sarasota County, Florida Area, the police do a great job even though they are quite frankly  overwhelmed with too many traffic incidents and too few officers due to the low payscale.

You already know about San Diego.

We just got voted the #2 safest city in America.  I guess we're doing all right!

I'm biased since I've volunteered with both of my local agencies.  I think they do a darn good job.

We are in a rural area, with a local Sheriff's Department that is tops when it comes to community  interaction;  there is a Shop with the Sheriff program at Christmas, where the Sheriff and his deputies shop with underprivileged kids;  the Sheriff and his Deputies participate in Bright Beginnings, a YMCA sponsored program where we take underprivileged children shopping for new school clothes and provide them with a new backpack full of school supplies...I could go on and on about the positive things the Sheriff's Dept does in this area, but you get the drift.  I am sure they are relatively underpaid and as this is a rural area, they have a lot of space to cover, so most of us realize our personal security is in our own hands and we, as well as all of our immediate neighbors, are fine with that and well equipped to handle it.  The folks who live here are here to get away from the city and are typically like minded. 

Overall the San Jose Police Department does a good job.  Has not cost me any business.

It is never the police department that is at fault for an area to be depressed.

Yes all of our departments in the area do a good job but there are naysayers here as well.

Our police department personnel are AMAZING and not only keep us safe, but are always available at local functions to answer questions and participate. We admire and respect them for the services they render.

     Tallahassee Police Department, the Leon County Sheriff's Department, and the Florida Highway Patrol (State Troopers) are dedicated professionals.

     Also, a neighbor's fire got out of control a couple of weeks ago, the Fire Dept. was putting it out, a Sheriff's Deputy came to surmise the situation.  He was a professional.

    The greatest enemy that American Police are facing is the treasonous bastard sitting in the White House.

I can't say with any certainty.  They seem to be OK for the most part, but I don't have much interaction with them.

I love our police department and they do lots of things with the neighborhoods. Our Coffee with a Cop program is very popular, as well.

99 % in this area are professionals and quality officers. There is always one now and then that can project a negative image of any dept. Many times it's job stress, or personal problems that can be handled internally by the dept.

Aurora police depantment has got better with the new police chief in the last year even if he is a Seattle Hawks fan.

I have to say that our local poice are here to serve and protect the general public. They do respond to calls.

Since I live in Dallas I would say they protect us very well.

It is Chicago, we have a few bad apples! A big job with defense attorney's looking for a quick fee.

We have excellent police departments in our city and county.

John DL Arendsen - I definitely believe that North Reading Police Department is one of the best around... We have one of the lowest crime rate.

You know...I feel for anyone in law enforcement right now. That public service job has to be one of the most dangerous ones right now...even more so than before. 

The DC Police Department is pretty amazing.  The few times I've had to call for help, they were totally responsive.  They do a great job when it comes to sending neighborhood cops to neighborhood association meetings around town.

Once I came home from a Sunday Open House to find my ex and four of DC's finest in my living room - his car had been stolen.  And I had clients who were supposed to arrive any second to put the last set of initials on an almost ratified contract for a house three doors down.  They showed up and were so impressed that the police were so diligent with a missing car that they grabbed my pen and made the deal.

Our Police Departments are awesome!

After serving on the Grand Jury last year I came away with a new appreciation for the skill and dedication of our police. They have to deal with such slugs.

We have a great force and they work hard under less than ideal conditions most of the time

I get along with them well and occassionally call them.  But they have made it clear that arresting guilty criminals is a waste of time.

I could write a book on some of the outrageous statements that they have made, but this box is too small and I dont like typing that much on this tiny keyboard.

I do not have much direct experience. Cops in my hood are usually nice. 

I have nothing but compliments and appreciation for the men and women in blue. They are professional, competent, cooperative and compassionate.

Can be better... but then, who pays for it? There are homeless here that do impact sales via disclosures and light crime. The cops need to deal with this

Underpaid and only interested in writing tickets. They don't like to get out of their cars, but they don't get paid enough to buy a home here so i don't blame them. We are almost crime free because of our geography. If something happens they can block the 3 bridges and any escape which tends to keep career criminals away.
