It depends on what our clients are comfortable with.  A good part of the time a simple text will suffice and is preferred by our clients and the other agents involved.  If it's something that's extra critical, it's always a phone call or face to face.  

Jared (my husband) has closed a few transactions with the communication being almost 100% through FB messenger.  

We'll do whatever makes the client most comfortable.

The only thing with texting is that it can be difficult to read emotion.  If there's any confusion there will be a clarifying phone call.

I don't know the percentage, however, I do use alot of text, as it seems to get my and their attention much quicker.  I do believe in paper trails too... so anything of any importance will have or also have... an email.

 

One other thing I do which would drive up my texting usage, is when I am sending documents, emails (important ones) etc... I also text them to let them know the email is on the way.

There is one agent in our market who communicates exclusively via text message to arrange for showings.  Too bad he doesn't read agent remarks when he asks me for showings when it should be the listing agent!!

I don't know that I can give a percentage but I spend more time emailing and texting than I do speaking on the phone. Phone is for important stuff. But, at this juncture of my business, I am not working with clients much and working more with agents and paperwork. One of my agents sits next to me, so we just talk. I see myself texting more and more for appointment confirmation, acknowledgment, etc. You can forward text to your email so the paper trail is there. Even many sellers want you to text them for an appointment when showing. We don't use the scheduled showing service any longer.
