I've accepted clients for various fees. 10% to 50%. It depends on the situation. 30% is not out of the norm. In fact, I regularly pay a 30% referral to an agent on referral status that religiously refers her family and friends to me. When you consider relocation companies charge up to 45% or beyond, what's the big deal? If you wouldn't have the business without the referral, it's money well spent in my book.

Why not? I think if someone is giving you a lead, you should take the referral. More often than not, they know what they want, and the transactions run smoother and take less time. I would not mind giving 30% of my commission to the agent who sent me a referral.
