Don't go counting on that settlement.  

I think a lot of money will be spent in legal fees before this is over.

Seems to me I read a featured post on this today Caroline Gerardo and my opinion is nothing will change. 

I would be surprised if it sticks...the big winners are the attorneys!

Since this is my neck of the woods, I've heard of it but I think it is dead. Can't read what happened in court so I really can't comment.

If this leads to buyers paying their agent and sellers paying their agent you can count me as a supporter.

A seller, today, who agrees to pay for both agents compensation, is further violated when the buyer's broker/agent hands a portion of that compensation to the buyer.  The seller did not agree to pay the buyer for the sale of their house!  Just one example of today's situation in real estate.

Direct pay makes the whole process much more transparent to the consumer, however, never underestimate how devious brokers can be.

It appears an attempt to manipulate the law to fit assumed facts. A sad day for real lawyers and practical people.

Both sides have very deep pockets and will go on and on , attorneys look like the winners in this one!

Well, if anyone gives any money back i'd take some. 

I just wonder who is behind this? follow the money... this isnt about normal buyers/ sellers.... someone is behind this for some reason.

A once simple idea of buying and selling is turned into a complex nonsense

I wonder if this is just to get a big pay day to settle out of court.  I don't see this impacting the MLS or the way homes are listed.  It may force buyers to pay their own agents, which will either mean they lower their pricing target or raise what they offer and ask for a concession to pay the commission.
