I'm very conscious about my "personal stock".... mental, emotional, spiritual and physical with the catalyst of psychological fuel propelling me every day... it's the Armenian way!!!!

Excellent Post Richie. For me, the value of a person, ethics level responsiblity etc has absolutely nothing to do with money along with other important aspects of life such as happiness.

For me the value of a person is based on what they do to actually "help" others. Someone that helps others materially, emotionally, spiritually and or physically is a very very valuable person to society. The guy with a huge bank account created at the expense of others has little value to society. How ever this is not meant to bash productive weathly people - most are extremely valuable and provide for the well being of 100's or 1,000's or even much much more people and their families.

Not sure what you mean by investment in my character, credibility, honesty, integrity, responsibility, etc. That's how I live my personal and professional lives. I've always felt you either have those characteristics or you don't. Those are ingrained from an early age. That's why I'm not all that keen on the new NAR requirement for ethics training every two years... either your ethical or your not. You can't be a little bit of any of those things and they all go hand in hand. It's like being a little bit pregnant.

This is a continuing challenge for all of us.

Character is created through travail. Who wants that?

Credibility comes from taking advantage to acquire knowledge and using it responsibly.

Honesty.....if everyone were honest the world would be a very harsh place. Sometimes the kind choice is "you look great in those jeans."

Integrity is the need to keep fidelity to the commitments we make....to ourselves. If we have no integrity internally, what happens on the outside matters little.

Responsibility....sure.

Whatever our situation, it is important to know what befalls us is common to man and for such have we been prepared by life.

Invest wisely and always choose kindness.

We invest in it every time we engage with the public.

Personal stock requires daily investing.

Volunteer and give back should not be attempted late in life... but salt and peppered through your days on Earth. It helps if you saw your parents active in community civic events and getting behind local area projects with service. Good point to check in and see if you have a little time that should be plowed back into the community volunteering Richie Alan Naggar !

Richie, I have never been motivated by money, over the years I must admit it was more about being competitive.... as far as  my personal stock is indeed character, integrity and honesty... responsibility goes hand in hand with credibility, Endre

Live by the Golden Rule and you will be fine.

In the corporate world, my stock was always very high and lead to some good stuff because of it.  It's much easier to grow one's stock in the corporate world, due to a finite amount of people who are over you and whom you work with.  In real estate it is much harder, as each client is a new "shareholder" with whom you need to build up that stock price.  Often it starts at $0.0, or as a referall maybe much higher, but either way you need to work to get it up to where it will pay dividends.

And that's as far as I can take the metaphor.  Huggins out.

One of the reasons that I got into this business was that I knew a few Realtors whom I respected. I pledged that I would earn the same respect from those with whom I work and whom I serve.

What an excellent question!  I am investing in my personal stock each and every day I use grace and integrity in my business.
