Are you just realizing AR has "gamers"?  It's pretty easy to discern who they are.

As for proofreading, I am more careful with my blog posts than comments. I try but errors happen.

I try to proofread everything I do, however, when I am doing things from my phone I have seen some very interesting words that I could swear I did not write!  But I see alot of strange stuff out there.  When I catch the mistake I try and fix asap!

As far as proofreading:  Things happen.  Onto your next "point" - ActiveRain is a points-driven platform but those who are only interested in points will miss out on so many other advantages of AR.

I do my best with spell check, and I read and reread.  I have found errors even after that.  We have a stellar proofreader for all our client's materials that we create.  

There are some of this platform who are gamers for points!  And that is what they do,  It is just reflecting their nature.  A

I usually do Mott Marvin Kornicki but sometimes errors slip by. When I posted yesterday I was heavily sedated going into surgery and I let two misspellings slip by.

I don't proof read when making comments on AR and often drop a word or have a typo. I should probaby spend some time proofing my comments as they do reflect on my level of professionalism. However, I would say that I do actually try to understand the questions and give actual answers regardless of grammar, typos and dropped words. That said, some questions are dull enough to simply respond, "points please" as that is the appropriate response and in line with the purpose of the question.

I do not put any energy on that.  It is what it is.  It is telling and a good indicator of many things.  I would not refer business to those people.  If they are here for points - so be it.  There is far more to this community than points. 

I do proofread yet I have missed a few typos/bloopers from time to time. 

With all due respect, isn't that what you're doing here - gaming the platform? You have four questions at the top of the Q&A. Two of them relate to real estate. 

My advice is to take what you need from AR and leave the rest.

I proof my own work... no need to ask anyone else to do it for me.

I try to proofread everything but sometimes I make mistakes, too.  Yes, there are some in AR who are in for the points.  

My first few blog posts were passed around the office to get many eyes to find my mistakes.

Since then I have realized that most people are more concerned with the fact that you stopped by than they are with the content of what you have to say.

Yes, I proofread and even use the spellcheck feature.

I do try to proof read or think of a way to respond, can't speak of the rest of the audience.  

Some times, I do make mistakes too.

As for points, we're all point whores!  The points motivate us to write and, as a result, keep our phones ringing, adding sales, referrals and social appointments to our calendars (meet-ups)!

Just worry about your own posts. Others may not be as sharp.

I think most of us try not to make errors, but even with proofreading, some of them slip through. I'm thankful when I find them somewhere that I can correct them.

Meanwhile, I don't thik errors just come from trying to gain points or game the system. A couple of my favorite bloggers have terrible spelling and grammar skills - but their posts are informative and often humorous. I won't skip reading them because of a few errors.

I follow the wise words of Marte Cliff who has taught us over the years how not to stink. Her words are write it, read it, re-write it, take out some words, read it again, post it.

With my fingers I proofread and spellcheck and still find mistakes. Something I have to deal with!

I proof read every post I write.... I more often than not proof every comment.... sometimes I find grave errors made by me.... that would have been very embarrassing.... that's what rushing does!!!

I definitely proof read it but sometimes even with proofing it I miss things.

I proofread and review my "stuff". And then after posting, I notice something I missed and have to hit the edit button.

The gaming is the part of the foundation of AR.

I make mistakes from time to time.  I try to change it when I see it.  Most are busy people and do have a schedule to follow, so I am guilty

I feel like you get out what you put into it here.  And you know what you get for the most points?  NOT A DAMN thing.  But for those who mingle and read and learn you can get SO much out of it.

The 2 things i learned is that clicking the spell check does not catch all errors. Second is if you miss a spelling error, dont worry, the spelling police will let you know with a fury

I see many questions here and posts that have errors in every sentence.   I try to spell check, read and reread, and at times there are errors. 

I learn to hit spell check but do not proof read enough.

After you changed the last question after it was answered, I'm not willing to answer any more of your questions.
